After Part-1 of MCU Future News, Here is Part-2.

5. Samuel L. Jackson Will Play Nick Fury In A New Disney+ Marvel Series :

Deadline reports that Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury in an as-yet-untitled Marvel series for Disney+. Details are scarce at the moment, but it's known that Mr. Robot's Kyle Bradstreet will be writing the series and Marvel Studios will produce it.

As of 2020, Jackson has appeared as Fury in 11 of the MCU's 23 films, as well as a handful of episodes of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series. The actor originally signed a nine-picture deal with Marvel to play the mysterious spymaster, but in a 2019 interview with The HollyWood reporter, Jackson said he'd happily continue to play the part into his eighties.

"I could be the Alec Guinness of Marvel movies," he said, referring to Star Wars' Obi-Wan Kenobi (who continued to appear in the franchise long after he perished at the hands of Darth Vader).

4. Jamie Foxx Could Return To The Spider-Verse As Electro :

Jamie Foxx may join Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the hero's third MCU film - and as the same villain he played in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The news comes direct from The Hollywood Reporter, which notes Foxx is in "final talks" to reprise the role of Electro.

What makes this news so surprising is that Foxx appeared in Sony's Amazing Spider-Man franchise, which was a separate continuity from the Tobey Maguire-led Spider-Man trilogy of the early 2000s, and the current version swinging through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel received mixed reviews from critics and were considered commercial underperformers, leading Sony to strike a deal with Disney to share the Spider-Man character. That's when Tom Holland took up the mantle in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

Slashfilm speculates that Foxx's reappearance as Electro could mean the third Holland Spider-Man will deal with alternate universes - an idea first broached in Spider-Man: Far From Home and strongly hinted by the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Then again, actor J.K. Simmons has also appeared in the MCU as J. Jonah Jameson, a role he first played in the original three Spider-Man films, and that was without any multiverse shenanigans.

3. Doctor Strange Will Appear In 'Spider-Man 3' :

Giving further credence to the "Spider-Man will journey through the multiverse" theory, the Hollywood Reporter has announced that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has joined the cast of Spider-Man 3.

Strange will embark on his own cross-dimensional adventure in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was originally scheduled for release in May 2021 but has been pushed back to March 2022. At the moment, the latest Spider-Man sequel is scheduled to debut just a few months prior, on December 17, 2021.

However, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the release dates for both films could easily be subject to change.

2. The Molyneux Sisters Will Write The Screenplay For 'Deadpool 3'

Deadline reports that sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, Emmy Award-winning writers and producers for Bob's Burgers, will pen the script for Deadpool 3, the first film in the Deadpool franchise developed by Marvel Studios after Disney acquired Fox. Ryan Reynolds, set to return as the title character, apparently had a hand in approving the Molyneux sisters as writers for the third film.

The sisters are also showrunners for Fox's upcoming adult animated series The Great North, and wrote the screenplay for Jump Street: Now for Her Pleasure.

1. Alfred Molina Will Return As Doc Ock In 'Spider-Man 3' :

Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Otto Octavius (AKA Doctor Octopus and Doc Ock) in Sam Raimi’s 2004 film Spider-Man 2, featuring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, will reprise the role in the upcoming Spider-Man 3.

The latest Spider-Man film, directed by Jon Watts and featuring the MCU's returning Spider-Man Tom Holland, is slated for release on December 17, 2021.
