Unfortunately we’re unable to see who possesses the wands underneath, but each one of them seek the position of power atop the hill. Having the high ground gives the man an advantage against his foes, making it easier to swat away the attacking wands.

Something interesting about the 7 of Wands are the shoes worn by the young man. You’ll notice he has two different pairs of shoes on, indicating that he may have been caught off guard by his assailants. He may have been in a rush to defend his position, unable to properly prepare for the attack. The two different shoes can also mean being unsure of what you stand for, or waffling on your beliefs.

The 7 Of Wands Upright show a power struggle between you and those who are envious or jealous of position. Your hard work and determination have paid off, and you now find yourself at the top of the ladder, but having to defend your position. We see this in sports all the time when a team wins a championship. The following year every team they face give them their absolute best, trying to knock them down. Night in and night out the team on top has to deal with having a target on their back and fighting to maintain their position at the top.

When you reach a high level of success there may be others who are gunning to take your place. The second you take your foot off the gas or get caught off guard you open yourself up to losing what you’ve worked so hard to achieve. When I think of the 7 of Wands Upright I’m reminded of how important it is to stay focused and alert. I’m stuck on sports analogies now, but the difference between winning and losing can be a razor thin margin. Races are won and lost in just fractions of a second, and being unprepared or overconfident can lead to victory slipping between your fingers.
