Ripple Labs, the developer company for cryptocurrency XRP, has appointed Kristina Campbell and Rosa "Rosie" Gumataotao Rios to respectively be the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and board director. This is expected to help Ripple against its current lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The New Board Director
Rosa "Rosie" Gumataotao Rios is the other new person joining the top Ripple team, becoming the new board director.
Rosie Rios has a good relationship with the US democracy, serving as the 43rd Treasurer of the United States from 2009 to 2016. During her service as the US Treasurer, she watched all currency and coin production with almost 4000 employees and an annual budget of $5 billion. She also promoted the idea of having a portrait of a woman on US currency and received the Hamilton Award, the US Treasury's highest honour. By Ripple pulling her onboard, it is most likely that they are hoping to get some of the good sides of SEC who are likely to value Ripple more, seeing that a close relation to them is now inside their headquarters.
Rosie Rios has thirty years of experience and expertise in public policy and investment management, indicating that she knows what she is doing when talking about business. This is another gain for Ripple being in a controversial lawsuit regarding the way they work, including the past transactions they have done.
Rosie Rios stated the following regarding Ripple:
I’ve dedicated my career to financial inclusion and empowerment, which requires bringing new and innovative solutions to staid processes. Ripple is one of the best examples of how to use cryptocurrency in a substantive and legitimate role to facilitate payments globally. Blockchain and digital assets will underpin our future global financial systems. Cryptocurrency is the what. Ripple is the how.
Rios is a top US politician with a great arsenal of knowledge and skills that will help Ripple accelerate its development, passionate about its cryptocurrency XRP behind it.
The New CFO
Kristina Campbell is the new CFO for Ripple Labs.
She will be a key contributor to Ripple's future, taking care of how Ripple will grow and respond to new stimuli that come in their way. Campbell has had experience with various other businesses in her career, leaving behind significant successes for them to follow their reassuring future. She used to work as CFO for PayNearMe with both the business and team following her leadership, suggesting that Campbell holds decent power. Before working at Ripple, Campbell had numerous roles at GreenDot, which is currently a $2.5 billion public fintech company.
Kristina Campbell mentioned the following on Ripple:
Digital asset technology allows us to rethink and improve the systems and infrastructure around how money moves. With this technology, we will make the global financial system accessible to all. Ripple is uniquely positioned to improve global payments in ways that have yet to be defined and I’m excited to be a part of that solution.
Campbell is another knowledgeable person with plenty of history behind her, meaning that Ripple excels with Campbell joining the crew.
