Twitter is preparing to appoint Peter Zatko, a cybersecurity expert and hacker, as head of security.

Zatko is expected to take up his duties after passing the audit within two months.

He will report directly to Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey and will be able to initiate changes in the structure and methods of work of the social network.

In the 90s, Zatko was one of the leaders of a hacking group in Cult of the Dead Cow, which developed tools for hacking Windows. The goal was to encourage Microsoft to improve security. At the same time, he was fulfilling orders for contractors from the US government.
