Pikeperch chooses a place for spawning very carefully, as a rule, these are shallow areas with partially flooded bushes or a pile of large debris at the bottom of the reservoir. Spawning lasts for three weeks and sometimes lasts up to one month. As a rule, spawning takes place at night. The number of eggs in the female pikeperch may vary from 200 to 300 thousand. The eggs are light yellow in color, in diameter from 1 to 1.5 mm. It is interesting that each breeding group of pikeperchs is formed of one female and several males, sometimes there are up to 5 eggs. The whole group works on the arrangement of the nest, but only one male fertilizes the caviar, and he will remain to guard the caviar until the appearance of fry.
Maintenance of pike-perch in artificial water bodies
Sudac is the most delicious and healthy fish, highly valued for its delicate, nonfat white meat. Unlike other fish predators, pike-perch has almost no bones. That is why nowadays Pikeperch has become one of the commercial fish, which is often grown artificially. Before the pond, in which it is planned to breed pike-perch, it is pre-fertilized.
