The eternal match is popular among tourists, fishermen and travelers, from it you can always get fire, it will not go out because of rain and wind, if you drop it in a puddle, such a match will still work.
It does not look like a simple match.
The eternal match does not look like the ones we used to pull out of the cardboard box. It is a small item of rectangular shape, made of metal, inside the case gasoline. The cover of the case not only reliably seals and prevents the liquid from spilling, it is also a rod-chair, at the end of which the wick of cotton. On one side of the body there is a narrow notch with a silicon sputtering. For convenience, such matches are made in the form of key chains.
How does it work? The eternal match is easy to use and anyone can understand its functionality. You just need to unscrew such a rod from the body, which serves as a cover at the same time, then spend the head on the notch with a sputter. Spark ignites from gasoline on the rod and gives fire. Wool wick will eventually burn out, this is normal, but it can easily be replaced with a new one. When a match is no longer needed, you should put it back in the case, even if it still burns. But there is nothing dangerous here, as soon as the interaction with oxygen stops, the flame goes out.
You can refill such a match with kerosene or gasoline, but not usual for cars, of course, but a special one, which is designed for lighters of this type. If the fuel is cleaned, there will be practically no unpleasant odors during ignition, because there are no impurities in it.
How to make an eternal match
The match can be made on its own from ferroceric rod 22 mm in diameter, no more than 5 cm in length and a small piece of tin, which does not rust. In addition, of course, you will need more components.
The body is made of tin, its size should be 5 x 5 cm. A match bed is made on the case. To do this, you need to bend from each edge to the sides of 1 cm of tin. Strip of tin size 5 x 1.5 cm to bend the pliers along and form an angle of 90 degrees. The edges are processed with sandpaper and tin, then soldered, the edge of the angle should be directed inward.
Now the bottom wall of the body from the end to cut out and solder to the base. At the bottom of the end to make a thread to fix the match-caps. The end wall is cut out and there is a drill hole with the same diameter as the internal thread. The end to solder the thread to the base, then file to drain the sharp ends and pieces of tin, which stick out on the body, clean all sides with sandpaper. The lid and the chair on it are made of metal with the help of a machine, it is better to make it small. Now you need to attach a wick to the armchair. It remains to seal the body, pour gasoline and glue the rod to the container from the inner corner.
