In recent times this same drugs have been abused by a particular age group (Youth) in the society.
When drugs are being used to trigger pleasure effect on the brain its Called DRUG ABUSE.
We have different kind of drugs(Called by the youth which create pleasure), Drugs of abuse fall into three groups and these include
1. Depressants: These cause depression of the brain's faculties and examples include sleeping pills (barbiturates), heroin, codine
2. Stimulants: cause stimulation of the brain, giving rise to alertness and increased activation of activity. A rapid heart beat rate, dilated pupils, increased blood pressure, nausea or vomiting and behavioural changes such as agitation, and impaired judgement may also result. In severe cases, there may be delusional psychosis which can occur with the use of cocaine, tramadol and amphetamines
3. Hallucinogens: These cause hallucinations and an "out of this world" feeling of dissociation from oneself. Hallucinogens may cause distorted sensory perception, delusion, paranoia and even depression. Examples includes ecstasy, mescaline and LSD.
Most of the youth are addicted to these drugs because of the nicotine content in this drugs and also making catchy advert done by this Companies. NICOTINE is a highly addictive and dangerous chemical in can cause increase in blood rate and heart failure, which leads to early death in youths.
A lot of programs are being carried out in higher institutions of learning by this so called hard drugs selling manufacturing companies to sponsor programs and students whereby creating a good face and bringing in this drugs into the institutions.
In many institutions of learning, hard drugs has been a normal thing taken by students to quench their urging thirst which is termed Drug abuse.

men are more likely to abuse drugs than women, single people are more likely than married individuals and urban dwellers more likely than rural dwellers. Prisoners, street children and younger individuals are also more likely to abuse drugs.
