1 . What does Eid el Kabir Mean?
Eid el kabir is an Arabic name phrase meaning "The feast of sacrifice" it can also be called Eid-al-Adha (THE ORIGIN)
2 . Eid el kabir Origin
The original dated back to when Ibrahim was asked to sacrifice his son Ishmael to Allah, this was a test of faith in disguise, due to his obedience and faithfulness the sacrifice was accepted even before him making the sacrifice.
Ibrahim journeyed back to Canaan to the Rocky plains of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, On his return to Canaan, he left Hagar and Ishmael who was short of food and water. In Allah’s infinite mercies, Hagar Ibrahim's wife and her son got water from a spring and even got food by selling from the water.
Ishmael became a prophet of Allah and preached faith in normad desert which became a home for hajj.

Its is also called the solemn prayers, prayers are offered in mosques all over the world, but this year its said you can pray in yiur houses with your friends and family, This is to seal the solemnity of the feast, as Eid-el-Kabir is considered the holiest of the two Muslim celebrations we have.

When Ibrahim wanted to sacrifice Ishmael his son and was stopped by the angel, Allah provided a ram which was to be used for the sacrifice, ever since then Rams, cows, goats e.t.c have been used by people around the world to mark this major event.
these animals are slaughtered in the head which represent Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his own son. The domestic animal use must meet a requirement for it to be accepted.

We have different calender being used in the world to celebrate Eid el kabir. for the Islamic Calendar, it is celebrated on the 10th day of the month Dhu al-Hijjah.
