Before 2013 we've known the sun to be the largest known start until Hercules Corona Borealis was found, it now said that the sun is a medium sized star and the Hercules corona the Largest cosmic structure in the observable universe.

It is approximately 10 billion light years away when measured in length. For a little memory refresh, the observable universe is approximately 93 billion light years in diameter).
Gamma ray bursting are responsible for the formation of this new stars.
The hercules borealis is two times bigger than the prior huge-lqg, making it the largest known formation in the universe.
