Frangipani
Frangipani always thought her color does not brighten up the festive Floral Friday. She thought her white skin looked pale during the night; so it would be during the daylight. Her lack of confidence brought her down to the ground.
One Thursday night, a little girl named Alluka saw Frangipani lying on the bed of dried leaves. Alluka was carrying with her a basket full of bright pink bougainvilleas.
Frangipani could not help but compare herself from the beautiful flowers. They were glowing and perfect for the festivity.
Ashamed, she cowered slowly, creeping in the shadows of the withered leaves. But for her amaze, she was picked up by Alluka.
Alluka held her on her palm and said, "You'll be perfect."
Frangipani was baffled what would she be perfect for?
When Frangipani was placed in the basket, a bougainvillea greeted her, "hello my friend, Alluka had a hard time getting us from our thorny bush but she instantly saw you in all that darkness -- glowing. You must be special."
Frangipani smiled at them and said, "but I am not as brilliant as you are."
The bougainvillea comforted Frangipani and told her to let her thoughts sleep as tomorrow will be the big day.
The next morning, Alluka was already at school. Frangipani woke up and found herself at the center of a wreath of bougainvilleas. The headdress was full of bright pink flowers with green leafy ornaments.
Frangipani was the centerpiece of it.
Alluka made the wreath for her Filipino friend Zoey who just have had her first Floral Friday celebation in the island.
Upon donning the wreath to Zoey, Alluka told her to be like the frangipani. That even surrounded by others like the bougainvilleas, she still belongs to the group and is not different from any others.
