Most Heavily Used Folder of Mine
This is my EDC folder which is Ontario RAT 1. I have used it through the years for literally everything and it's quite good!
Recently I cleaned it, reassembled adding some thread locker/glue, and then attached that fancy paracord lanyard. Here are a couple more views along with the extremely great 18650 flashlight Lumintop FW3A:
And what knife do you carry as an **EDC**? Let me know down in the comments!

🦟 Young Mosquitos
Young mosquitos don't even bite. They are so small and harmless, but when they grow up, they will become a real nuisance.
Did you know that mosquitos are the deadliest creatures on Earth? And they are so different in their early and late stage.
At nighttime they become active and crawl in groups. These macro snaps were taken yesterday in my garden.

Safety First? Not Really! In Russia, oil is first, second and third priority. Passengers are fourth
You heard many times that *safety is everybody's job*. But in Russia this saying has a completely different meaning.
Russian Railways have seen a huge spike in the number of *derailments* and *accidents* over the last few years.
One thing that caught our attention is the safety of *railroads in Russia*. It doesn't seem like they're too concerned about protecting passengers, and they're more focused on the cargo they carry.
They don't even have *viaducts* or *tunnels* on quite many stations. People have to crawl under the cars and between the wheel pairs--watch this video how!

Coprinellus micaceus 🍄
When I was a child, I was told that *mushrooms* are the little elves that live in our gardens. I had no idea what they were and found it difficult to believe that they existed at all. I only believed in them because my parents told me so, and I had never seen one for myself.
This is ***Coprinellus micaceus***. I often find that *mushroom* at the beginning of summer.
After a quick research I discovered it is edible, but right after foraging you need to act and cook it fast.
I don't know anyone picking ***Coprinellus micaceus*** in my area.

⛵ Refreshment on Volga
Bathed in the rays of the sun, the Volga river is one of the symbols of Samara.
The river, with its cool water, never disappoints tourists who come here to enjoy a refreshing dip. For locals, it's a great way to chill when summer days get hotter.
BTW Volga is the longest river in Europe and the most significant waterway in the world—it flows for about 2,292 kilometers.
Some go there for fishing, some other build a seasonal shelter across the river to relax in comfort.

Sunset 🌅 on River
My city Samara has a lot of amazing sights. And Volga is the most famous and majestic river in our country.
This river has many branches and their names are often related to their geographical location. This sunset was taken in the branch called Sukhaya Samarka. The branch ain't very long but it's really special because of its views.
In the branch I tested a smartphone telescope this spring at daytime and streamed the whole picture live:

Count the 🚲 Bikes
Count bicycles on the photograph… If only you can 😁
This is a ferry we used to cross Volga a while ago. It took about half an hour to cross the river, which is really not that long.
But now the rules have changed 🚳 and cyclists ain't welcome any more.
Just a unique historical (taken in 2014) picture for you to enjoy.
And do you love cycling and maybe traveling on a bike?

There Cannot Be Too Many 🦊 Foxes
Ever wonder what it's like to be a **fox**?
This beast is living in the area and has been seen around. The fox aka **Vulpes vulpes** has been photographed recently and was very close to a house.
It is not known how the fox ended up in the area but it seems to be doing well.

Cetonia aurata 🪲 in Macro
*Cetonia aurata*, also known as the *rose chafer* or *rose beetle*, is a beetle from the scarab family.
These beautiful insects are a common sight in the summer and can be found on wildflowers, as well as on plants such as roses and honeysuckle.
Photographed in my garden today.

Abandoned Summer Camp 🏕 DREAM
I was bored so I thought it would be a good idea to visit the **abandoned summer camp**. This time around it was *MECHTA* (or *Dream* in English) near to *Krasny Yar* which is in the *Samara Region*.
The camp is quite large and has lots of sports grounds.
Several *swings* are standing still. There is an iron *labyrinth* and even a *fortress* for kids to play in.
And here celebrations were held and the *Soviet flag* was raised.
But the whole area is now deserted. From what I've seen, the *power grid is intact*.
And the *fence is in a decent condition*. It is somewhere broken, somewhere decayed due to advancing nature.
There are many *abandoned buildings* to explore, but I tried to stay sneaky and pass the *security guard* who *lives in a far corner* of the camp.

Who Really Likes Flowers 🌼?
A honey bee flits about the garden, stopping eagerly to taste some nectar.
As she moves from an arrowwood blossom to a bloom of the *Leucanthemum* flower, you can see pollen dusting her head and hind legs. She is taking in the nectar and, in the process, she is also gathering pollen from the male parts of the flower.
On the pictures there is the *Leucanthemum vulgare* plant growing in my garden.
And do you enjoy flowers as much as this honey bee does?

Small 😻 Kittens
These four kittens are so small and so cute that it's almost impossible to resist them—especially when they're looking at you with those big, curious eyes.
The mama cat is doing all she can for her kids. She has been taking care of them since they were born.
She cleans them often, and on the snap she is actually feeding all four.

🍒 Summer Symbol
Whatever summertime means to you, there is no denying that cherries 🍒 are a symbol of the season. These first fruits bring back fond memories of when my grandma would make a pie with fresh cherries from her garden. I am sure you will agree that *fresh cherry* pies taste better than any you can buy in the store!

Old Woman with 💐 Flowers
Look at this *old woman* in a bus. She brings 💐 *flowers grown in* her own *garden* to a market.
Her burden is heavy. You maybe heard that most seniors of ex-USSR are struggling. They have to look for additional income since the *pensions are miserable* while *bills are cosmic high*.

🍓 Strawberries That Ain't Berries
It is amazing to see how quickly the *strawberry plant* can *grow*.
The plants are already starting to bloom. The flowers will soon turn into small strawberries.
I have been growing strawberries for a few years now and I never get tired of admiring their beauty.
Cannot wait to taste them.
By the way: did you know, that *strawberries* are not berries at all? The small seeds are actually nuts.

🐱 Tom Finally Caught Jerry 🐭
Get a *homeless cat* to get rid of mice in your house.
Homeless are more grateful and skilful.
This female cat lived next to us, and she was very good at catching mice and even baby rats. It was so memorable when she brought one home and wanted to teach me *how to catch it*!

These *ducks* were taking a swim last autumn in the *Bezentchuk* river near to the *Yekaterinovka* village.
They're all just minding their own business and having a good time.

They just want to swim, eat and frolic with other *ducks in reeds*.

Visiting an Abandoned ⛪ Church. It Is Ruined and Completely Forgotten
When you think about *abandoned places*, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Probably an *old* and *abandoned village*, a *house*, an *old castle* or a *church*.
And you're right! This video is about the church which is too *ruined* and completely *lost*.
It has an interesting story behind and was abandoned around 15 years ago. Located in the center of the large city of *Samara*.
It's sad to see what happened to this once beautiful building that was full of life in the past.

🌅 High-Water Sunset
With recent coldness and rains we've seen a lot more sunsets.
This is due to more spare time in the evenings.
During high-water season, nature provides a stunning show of waves and reflections on water surface.
Everything was captured in front of the Koroviy island.
And it is in Samara. In this branch I tested a smartphone telescope a couple of days ago at daytime and streamed the whole picture live:

🇨🇳 Happy Young Pioneers Day
Happy Young Pioneers Day! This holiday is celebrated each year on May 19.
The Vladimir Lenin All-Union Pioneer Organization was founded on May 19th, 1922, so today its 100-years anniversary.
The text on the flag is: '*Vsegda gotov!*' which means "*Always ready!*"
By the way, this footage shows what happened to one of the children summer camps of the Young Pioneers organization:

The summer camp '*Raketa*' (*The Rocket*) is now completely forgotten and abandoned due to lack of funds.

How to Feed 🪶 Baby Crow
It can be so hard to see a baby crow on the ground and not know how to help.
Here is a way to make it easy: do not touch the bird, then dig an earthworm, then put the worm into a nestling's beak using a stick. Alternatively, you can buy another worms in a fishing shop or gardening center.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di3_b5aX4sQ
The most important part: leave the baby crow where you found him/her!

🌼 Early Lily of the Valley
Convallaria majalis
One day I was walking through the woods and found a patch of lily of the valley aka *Convallaria majalis*. What a delight to find this flower so early in the season! Lilies of the valley are a favorite for me because they are such delicate. The buds will soon open and reveal gorgeous flowers.
The shot of *Convallaria majalis* was taken in a forest in my neighborhood at Sukhaya Samarka, Samara.
