EXT./INT - COLLEGE CAMPUS - PLACEMENT AUDITORIUM - DAY (no music)

DILSHAD speaks on phone.

DILSHAD

MA, I don't like this job and all.

My passion is not this. He looks frustrated.

DILSHAD (CONT'D) You are not understanding me.

(beat)

I am telling you I will get depressed by this.

(beat)

(gets angry and raises

voice)

You cannot decide my life. I have a different calling.

(beat)

Baba doesn't understand this. You all cannot blackmail me this way.

(beat)

I can manage everything by what I will earn.

(Sad music plays)

The dialog goes silent. DILSHAD paces rapidly on the ground. Sometimes beating up dust.

He cuts the phone and rubs his hair harshly. And goes inside the auditorium.

INT./INT. INTERVIEW ROOM - AUDITORIUM - DAY (Sad music plays, dialogs silent)

He sits before the interviewer smiling. Interviewer asks questions and DILSHAD answers them with confidence. The smile is intact.

The interviewer is impressed with DILSHAD and shakes hand with a smile. DILSHAD does the same. He cracks the interview.

He exits the interview room with a smile and informs his friends of his selection. They congratulates him and hugs him. He smiles at them and mouths best of luck to them.

EXT./INT. COLLEGE CAMPUS - AUDITORIUM - DAY (no music)

DILSHAD calls his mother.

DILSHAD

MA, I got the job. They offered me

a good salary.

MOTHER (O.S.)

What! I knew it you will get it.

Wait let me tell this to your father.

DILSHAD cuts the phone. (sad music resumes)

He walks inside the auditorium over to stage and looks at it with pleasure. He keeps looking at it with a smile.

(IN BLACK)

Three years later...

INT. OFFICE - DAY (sad music plays)

DILSHAD busy working in his computer. Messages and emails pop up asking for quick delivery of the works.

He talks with his colleagues, the smile intact.

Office boy (24) wearing grey uniform approaches DILSHAD when he is busy working in his system

(music fades)

OFFICE BOY

Sir is calling you in his chamber.

DILSHAD Ok I will be there.

EXT./INT. MANAGER’S CHAMBER - DAY (no music)

A man (45) is seated on his cushioned chair looking at the computer screen wearing a black suit. He has a healthy physic and top class look and attitude in him.

FADE TO BLACK.

DILSHAD pushes the glass door and peeps in

DILSHAD May I enter sir?

MANAGER

Ah yes! DILSHAD? Please come in.

DILSHAD comes and takes a sit before the big glass table facing the manager. His smile is intact.

MANAGER (CONT'D)

So DILSHAD, do you know why I

called you here?

DILSHAD looks surprised and dull. He stares at the manager still smiling and confused.

MANAGER (CONT'D)

I am impressed with the work that

you are doing. So I thought of calling you out here personally and congratulate you before everyone else.

DILSHAD

(confused and sheepish)

Why congratulate sir?

MANAGER

We thought of appointing you a team

lead to my department. You are going to manage the team. And you will have all the necessary requirements needed to be sent to offshore if need be.

(Sad music plays in the background)

He waits for DILSHAD to understand the situation. DILSHAD smiles back.

DILSHAD

Thank you sir for this opportunity.

I will try my best to live up to your expectations.

They shook hand and DILSHAD leaves the chamber. His smile fades away as he exits.

INT. OFFICE - DAY (sad music plays)

He sat at his table looking at the notebook written over its cover “Scripts” when his colleagues approaches him.

He puts the notebook back and shakes hands with them. They congratulates him for his promotion.

EXT./INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT

Exhausted DILSHAD opens the door of his apartment. Turn on the lights when the phone rings.

He throws his bag on the sofa and falls on it and connects the phone.

DILSHAD Hello!

MOTHER (O.S.) Hello baba! How are you?

DILSHAD

Good. I have a news to give. You

will like it.

MOTHER (O.S.) What is it?

DILSHAD

I got a promotion. As you wanted me

to be. I am making you proud. (sad music resumes)

MOTHER (O.S.) (overjoyed)

Such a great news. You are such a sweet boy of me. I knew you would one day make us proud. How much is the salary incremented?

DILSHAD (smilingly)

Don’t worry I will send you the money, you will understand then how much increase I got.

(beat)

You are happy right? Are you proud of me now?

MOTHER (O.S.)

I only want you to be happy.
