Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi ta'alah wa barakatuhum my people in read.cash

First of all, I want start by what is prayer. Prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam. In Islam, prayer, supplication, purification and most ritual actions are considered acts of worship (ʽibadat). The most well-known, and an obligatory, act in Islam is the performance of the five daily prayers, which in Arabic is known as salah (often written salat). In the Qur’an, the Arabic word salah means to demonstrate servitude to God by means of certain actions. The same term is used in many languages throughout contemporary Muslim-majority countries, such as in Malay and Swahili . In other languages, such as Persian, Urdu, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Igala and Turkish, the term that is commonly used for the ritual prayer is namaz. However, regardless of the term used, the ritual prayer and most other worship is always performed in Arabic throughout the Muslim world and is nearly identical with only slight variations. Different terms reflect the geographical and linguistic diversity of the Muslim world, but the Arabic language unifies them.

CLASSIFICATION OF PRAYER IN ISLAM

Prayer is ritually prescribe 5 times daily i.e salah

  • Fajr – the dawn prayer. It is two Rakat Salah.

  • Dhuhr – the early afternoon prayer. It is four Rakat Salah.

Besides the five daily prayers, other notable forms of salah include:

  • Jumu'ah – weekly congregational prayer (replaces dhuhr on Fridays two rakat along with khutba)

  • Sunnah - These prayers are recommended to be performed as by the Prophet on a regular basis throughout the lifetime; missing once or twice so that it does not become fard is called Sunnat.

    • 2 Rak'ats Sunnat for Fajr. (The Fajr sunnat is offered before Fajr prayers.)

    • 4 Rak'ats Sunnat for Zuhr. (The Zuhr sunnat is 4 rakats before Zuhr and 2 rakats after zuhur.)
