In the Philippines there is a Famous and Traditional Bread. they call this as Pandesal or Pan De Sal.

How does this bread starts to become famous?

According to the history Pan De Sal was introduce to the Philippines in sixteenth century by The Spanish Colonials.

the Filipino Revolutionaries use this as alternative to the rice, that is also the reason why it is also called as the "Bread of the Poor". Because the Spaniards are the one who is holding the supply rice that time.

They says that Pandesal was modeled as French Bread by the Spanish. But because the Philippines is not the main producer of flour. They choose to use the local flour instead of its original flour and when the baking was done. the texture is different from the original French Bread.

from that time the Pandesal became famous to the poor. most especially to the Filipino Revolutionary army.

How is the bread eaten by the Filipinos?
