WHEN the people were growing in the land, many of them did bad things like Cain. But there was a man who was very different. He was a man named Enoch.

Enoch was a brave man. He served God. Do you know why people in those days did so bad? All right, think, Who pushed Adam and Eve to disobey God? Yes, an evil angel. In the Bible he is called Satan.

He wants everything to be bad. Theft and murder One day Jehovah God commanded Enoch to tell the people something they would not like to hear. It says: 'The day will come when God will destroy all the wicked.' Perhaps the people were very angry when they heard this. So Enoch must be brave.

God did not allow Enoch to live long among those wicked people. Enoch was only 365 years old. Yes, people lived longer in those days. Why, Enoch's son Methuselah lived 969 years! People are doing bad things When Enoch died, the people became more and more wicked.

The Bible says that 'the earth is full of violence.' Do you know why it was so chaotic at the time? Because Satan has a new way of persuading people to do evil. This is what we will learn next.

Genesis 5: 21-24, 27; 6: 5; Hebrews 11: 5; Jude 14, 15

Genesis 5: 21-24

Enoch was 65 years old when he became the father of Methuselah.a 22 When his son Methuselah was born, Enoch continued to walk with the true God * for 300 years. And he had other sons and daughters. 23 So Enoch lived 365 years. 24 Enoch continued walking with the true God.b Then, no one saw him, because God took him

Genesis 6: 5

As a result, Jehovah saw that the badness of man was rampant on the earth and that the flesh and the mind and the heart were all evil.

Hebrews 11: 5

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not taste of death, and he could not be found because God moved him, b because before his departure he received a testimony that he had been pleasing to God.

Jude 1:14,

Yes, the seventh in the genealogy from Adam, Enoch, also prophesied about them and said: “Jehovah * came with his great * divinities * 15 to execute judgment upon all, c and to judge all the ungodly are guilty in regard to all the ungodly things they have done in ungodly ways, and in connection with all the horrible things that ungodly sinners have said against him.
