Why Do Indians Excel in Jobs?

Indians do well as employees.

Several Indians rise to top-ranking administrative positions, such as CXOs, in big tech companies. They were born and brought up in India.

After getting their college degree, they move to America and Europe and acquire higher academic degrees. Then, they join big tech corporations. They rise to top administrative positions, such as CXOs.

This is commendable to hold leadership positions in big tech companies.

But I have a different point to say.

Indians lack entrepreneurial spirit.

  • India-born and brought-up people lack an entrepreneurial mindset!

  • Wherever they are, Indians take education more seriously than business.

  • They use education as a tool to bag good salaries.

  • They excel as employees and don't take an interest in entrepreneurship.

  • They remain happy to be CXOs of big companies.

Even if a few of these Indin CXOs are fired from CXO positions, they won't take any steps to build their businesses.

I don't wish to name them. There are a few who remained happy after being fired but didn't try to build their businesses.

In India, students are taught to aspire after jobs!

  • The general Indian mentality is to work hard in studies and get good scores.

  • Then, apply for jobs and work as an employee (servant).

Entrepreneurial teaching is absent in Indian schools.

That is why, even after migrating to America and Europe, most people continue their jobs, rise to senior positions, and continue working as employees forever.

An entrepreneurial mindset can make a difference.

I am proud of people who worked on something worthy in technological innovation and business.

Late Prof. Amar Gopal Bose, the founder of Bose Corporation, is one example.

  • Amar Gopal Bose was a professor of electrical engineering at MIT.

  • He pursued research and innovation.

The idea of improving audio equipment came into his mind while attending an Indian classical musical program.

  • Prof. Bose worked on the idea and built a superior audio technology.

  • He founded the Bose Corporation.

And Prof. Bose was born and brought up in the US.

Conclusion

Entrepreneurial teaching should be included in India since high school, if not from middle school days.

  • Only then, some change in the students' thinking may happen in colleges.

  • A few of these students may consider entrepreneurship and building businesses instead of continuing as employees throughout their professional lives.
