Why Do Banks Use Social Media for Official Communication?
Some Indian banks use social media for official communication!
Recently, I read a LinkedIn post by Soham Sengupta that reports how his elderly father received threatening calls from an unidentified person for sharing the CVV of his Axis Bank debit card!
A reply appeared from the LinkedIn page of Axis Bank requesting Soham Sengupta to share his father's registered contact number on their social media pages on Facebook and X (Twitter).
I advised them not to use Facebook and other social media accounts to collect/share clients' data.
Why do banks use social media for official communication?
Why do Indian Banks use social media (Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp) to communicate with their clients?
Social media communication can be a source of a data breach!
Will Banks' admins realize that social media is NOT a safe platform for communication with their clients?
Social media communication may leak precious banking data!
The banks' authority must understand that social media may leak sensitive clients' data and result in a data breach.
For the safety of the data, banks must not use social media platforms for official communication with their clients.
Banks must always use their company emails to communicate with their clients.
