Trust is a Hole in Safety and Security
My heart is bleeding for the brave soul of a Kolkata lady doctor who was raped and murdered inside her workplace.
Currently, my heart is continually bleeding for the soul of the raped and murdered on-duty lady doctor of R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.
Recently, there was a rape-and-murder of an on-duty lady doctor inside a government hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The doctor might have known about some misdeeds and corruption of the hospital administration. She was tortured and murdered while she was taking some rest after a hectic 36-hour nonstop duty.
The hospital authority and police first tried to cover up the heinous rape and murder as a suicide.
The rape and murder case is now under court-monitored investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), a central government's investigating agency.
Those unaware of the Kolkata doctor death case read my earlier articles.
"Raise Your Voice Against Crime."
"Are We Responsible to the Society?"
According to reports published and from the news chats of a few professors and her parents, the postgraduate trainee (PGT) doctor was meritorious, disciplined, hardworking, and honest.
Was honesty a trait she lost her life for?
The ex-principal of R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital is one of the main suspects responsible for the heinous rape and murder of the PGT lady doctor.
Reports are coming like rain showers about corruption and various evil deeds of the ex-principal of the college.
However, the infamous ex-principal is a favorite of the West Bengal Chief Minister, who also holds the Health Minister and Police Minister portfolios.
Why does the Chief Minister of West Bengal provide unconditional support and shield to this miscreant ex-principal of the medical college?
Does the Chief Minister trust the infamous ex-principal, and for what reasons?
There are so many questions that are relevant to investigating this heinous crime inside the famous government hospital.
Did the lady PGT doctor trust her workplace?
Most of us blindly trust our homes, families, spouses/partners, relatives, friends, colleagues, business partners, security staff members, online digital platforms, computers, smartphones, operating systems, application software, anti-virus programs, AI GPTs, etc.
Typically, trusting in everyday matters, in homes, offices, or other relevant places, may sound okay or normal. But I am afraid it is not.
As an information security and cybersecurity researcher, I know trust is a weakness in safety and security.
Did the lady PGT doctor trust her friends and colleagues too much?
As doctors say they consider hospitals their "second home," they may love to trust their workplaces to be as safe as their homes.
I think trust is a vulnerable hole everywhere.
The lady doctor could have been alive if she had considered her safety first with a check on whom to trust and whom not to trust.
Her enemies took advantage of her blind trust and brutally killed her in a place where she assumed herself safe.
Trust was a hole in the rape and murder at the R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.
There were pre-planned lapses in security measures in the R. G. Kar hospital.
There were security holes in the lady doctor's blindly trusting the work environment.
Food: Who knows that some sedatives were not mixed in the delivered food the lady doctor ate that fatal night?
Co-workers: Who knows that a few of her colleagues/acquaintances who ate food together were in the conspiracy of the pre-planned murder?
Other staff members: Who knows that some other staff members, including on-duty staff nurses and other support staff members, were also not involved in the pre-planned murder?
Security staff members: Who knows that the corrupt college admin didn't bribe the security staff members in charge in the vicinity of the place of crime?
Professional killers: Who knows if the corrupt college admin hadn't employed professional killers to execute the heinous crime?
On the night of Aug 14, 2024, the alleged criminals involved in the lady doctor's death brought hooligans to destroy the place and remaining pieces of evidence of the crime at the R. G. Kar hospital; they might have employed professional killers in the crime.
Trust is a vulnerable hole in safety and security.
Do NOT trust any entity blindly.
Check and test before plunging deeply into the job.
Take precautionary measures before executing anything, be it cooking, walking, listening to music on an earphone, repairing an electrical gadget, kickstarting a motorbike, starting to drive your car, getting inside a lift in a highrise building, going on a date with a stranger, meeting your ex alone, working or resting alone in an office room, and so on.
Many of you would contradict my emphasis on TRUST as a loophole.
It is sometimes called destiny when circumstances of precautionary measures fail.
But the main question remains the same.
Have you taken sufficient precautionary measures for safety and security?
The first and foremost precautionary measure is to put a little bit of UNTRUST in every safety and security measure.
For example, after switching off the main switch, please check if the electrical line is off by testing it with a line tester before fixing the electrical connection with your bare hands.
Hello, Doctors. We support your battle for justice.
We are with the battle of the doctors of R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, in demanding justice for the on-duty lady doctor's rape and murder.
We support and protest for "Justice for Abhaya's Rape and Murder."
We support all the doctors' demands regarding staff safety and security.
I want to mention my humble point to all:
Please do NOT blindly TRUST the security and safety measures.
The first and foremost precautionary measure is to put a little bit of UNTRUST in every safety and security measure.
Check and test before plunging deeply into the job.
