Justice Delayed is Justice Denied!
"Tarikh Pe Tarikh," Date after date!
The Supreme Court hearing has been postponed, and justice for Abhaya is delayed! What are the equations and inequalities? We must question the system.
People have been protesting on the streets for justice for a murder-rape victim.
For almost a month, the people have been protesting on the streets, demanding justice for the heinous murder (and rape) of an on-duty lady doctor inside the R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, 2024.
The Supreme Court of India was to hear the case today. But the court hearing of the case is postponed!
People are asking the Chief Justice of India the reason for not sitting today for the hearing of Kolkata's Abhaya's rape and murder.
People are protesting, saying, "Protests will multiply if justice is delayed."
The people are not only frustrated and disappointed by the delayed tactics in the court hearing, but they are also asking questions about why the Chief Justice took suo moto cognizance and shifted the case from the Kolkata High Court.
At the very least, the Kolkata High Court heard the case regularly without missing any hearing dates and didn't delay the hearing dates.
Justice delayed is justice denied!
We can't blame the protesting people if they ask questions about equations between the West Bengal government chief and the judiciary chief at the center.
The protesting mass of people won't mind if the Chief Justice forwarded the case (back) to the Kolkata High Court if he and his office are swamped.
The chief of the Indian judiciary MUST function timely and efficiently.
