Preparing the school kids for the tech-driven world is a big responsibility.

I posted a poll long ago.

What technology would be more relevant to teaching school children in this Internet-driven networked world?

Artificial intelligence or Cybersecurity?

What comes first?

Learning or safety?

(A screenshot from my LinkedIn poll)

There were only 27 votes.

  • What is the reason for getting fewer votes?

I have fewer active connections/followers on LinkedIn.

Out of 27 votes, 17 voted for AI, and 10 for cybersecurity.

  • What is the reason for more votes for AI?

Maybe, AI is a trending subject, and parents and guardians like their children know and learn about the subject in the news.

School curricula include computers and information technology.

  • Today's middle and high school curricula include computers and information technology as co-curricular subjects.

Recently, the school boards (in India and many other countries) introduced artificial intelligence into the syllabus.

  • But, there is no mention of making the students aware of the threats and vulnerabilities of cyberspace.

School curricula must introduce cybersecurity awareness as a compulsory subject.

What should we teach our kids first? Cybersecurity or artificial intelligence?

Parents, guardians, teachers, and professionals, please think.

  • Which new subject the kids must learn first?

  • What technology should we teach our kids first?

Today's kids use computers and smartphones.

They frequently access the Internet.

  • Since today's students frequently use Internet technology, they need knowledge about its pros and cons.

  • Therefore, learning how to safeguard access and usage of the Internet is paramount.

If school children get some awareness of the basics of cybersecurity, their everyday learning using the Internet would be safer and happier.

Conclusion

  • School students must be aware of the frontline areas of today's technologies.

  • They should learn how to use computers and browse the Internet.

  • They should learn basic modern technology subjects, such as artificial intelligence.

  • They must be aware of the pros and cons of the Internet.

Therefore, learning how to safeguard access and usage of the Internet is paramount.

  • Cybersecurity is a subject school students must learn about.

School curricula must introduce cybersecurity awareness as a compulsory subject.
