Alcohol has a history as old as civilization itself. 5. The Borgias Maintained Their Power Thanks to Poisoned Wine :
For families obsessed with protecting and defending the Roman throne, Borgia's method was far from moral. Borgia was an Italian family who ruled during the Renaissance. The noble clan had two popes in its ranks. More importantly, Borgia is known as one of the toughest families in history. Your favorite weapon to eliminate enemies? Ironically, some historians believe that the Borgia patriarch Pope Alexander VI claimed the life of the Borgia poisonous wine, which eventually came to the table.
4. Beer Helped Build the Pyramids :
