The Kagan Valley is famous for its amazing weather, scenery, fruits, lakes, rivers and mountains. It also contains the most beautiful creation of nature called Lake Saif al-Muluk. Lake Saif al-Muluk is named after a famous prince Saif al-Muluk of Iran who is related to the story of Lake, while the prince fell in love with Princess Badi al-Jamal, the queen of fairies on the lake.
To reach the amazingly beautiful Lake Saif al-Muluk, you have to head to the federal capital Islamabad. After starting the journey from Hazara Motorway, you reach Abbottabad and then Mansehra city. From Mansehra on the Karakoram Highway, the Naran Babusar Top Road leads to the Naran Kagan Valley via Balakot. After the Naran Valley, tourists can hike or take a jeep tour of Lake Saif al-Muluk. It is located at an altitude of 10,580 feet above sea level. The surface area of Lake Saif al-Muluk is about 3.6 km. The distance from Naran to Saif al-Muluk is 8 km, which takes about 1 hour to reach.
The lake supplies water to the Kanhar River from where the top of a mountain called Malika Parbat offers a spectacular view. When you get close to Lake Saif al-Muluk, you will find food stalls nearby, including food stalls, fritters, tea and other general Items such as snacks, sweets, etc. are included.
The Guardian has named Lake Saif al-Muluk the fifth best tourist destination in Pakistan, with a length of 1,430 feet and a width of 440 feet. You can also call this lake a kind of bowl where ice water is collected from different sources, but the environmental diversity is also part of the beauty of the lake which includes a rare brown trout, greenish-blue algae and a variety of aquatic plants are also included.
Trout fish are also very popular in nearby Naran and Kagan. The weather on the lake is uncertain, no one knows when the sun will hide behind the clouds and it will start raining. Water is available to the lake from melting glaciers, while a mountain called Malika Parbat is located to the east of the lake, which is clearly visible in the clear water of the lake.
Due to snowfall in winter, the lake freezes completely. From June to September, tourists flock to this place. The weather in this beautiful place is very pleasant during the day (about 15 to 20 degrees Celsius) while the temperature drops to 3 degrees at night when the rest of the country has summer at its peak, who would not like to go to such a place.
There is also a boating facility for adventure seekers but tourists need to be careful as no one knows the exact depth of the lake so far, and there is no rescue facility due to the remoteness of the area. So take care of yourself while boating. There is also a horse riding facility here which also provides employment to the locals.
Camping on a full moon is like sitting on a fairy's land. It is an incentive for those who want to see the moon shining in the five billion stars in the sky.
