Solving the tragedy of the commons is a noble cause. Flipstarter seems to be the chosen solution for funding the development and maintenance of Bitcoin Cash.
To ensure the efficiency of donation based funding we must hold funding recipients accountable for their promises.
If the recipients of funding have delivered on their promises then they should be praised. If they have not delivered then they the community should exert some pressure and encouraged them to fulfill their promises.
The BCH community deserves to be informed of who is efficient and deserving of funding and who is not. Wouldn't it be useful to know the results of these funding campaigns? Maybe we can put a DAO on SmartBCH to help out with this issue in the future. Until then, we utilize a manual approach by volunteers who believe in the goal of utilizing p2p cash to bring economic freedom to the world. Funding is an important aspect of this process so at a minimum we need to harden the system from the inevitable grifters; at best we can optimize this process and become incredibly efficient at allocating resources.
Phase 1: Create a list of all of the funded campaigns including deliverables, promises, recipients, contact information, and possibly location / state of funding, along with other information.
Phase 2: Investigate for proof of deliverables and promises. Those who have delivered should be praised and their works highlighted.
Phase 3: Those who have not delivered will have their funding tracked via chain analysis. Those who have not spent their funds will be encouraged to fulfill their promises. Further investigation will take place of those who are considered to have dispersed or spend their funding without delivery on campaign promises.
This post is mostly a place holder. Expect the eventual process / post of Phase 2 to be more interesting.
