Old Mosque Stands Before Demak Mosque In Cikakak Village, there is an old mosque called the Saka Tunggal Mosque. The uniqueness of the mosque is the existence of a pillar or "single saka" as high as 5 meters. Built in 1288, this mosque is the oldest in Banyumas Based on the stories of previous ancestors, this mosque was founded before the Great Mosque of Demak. The founder was Mbah Kholih. Meanwhile, we as caretakers as well as the people around here are his descendants,” said Sulam, caretaker of the Saka Tunggal Mosque. But unfortunately I didn't take a picture of this mosque, so I took it on the internet.

Myth of Cikakak Village

Located on a hillside not far from forest area, the environment around the Saka Tunggal Mosque is a natural habitat for long-tailed monkeys. According to legend, the hundreds of monkeys that live wild around the mosque were once naughty students who were cursed for not wanting to pray.

We were afraid of so many monkeys, but there was something unique from the information from local residents, the monkey was afraid of stone and vehicle tires such as bicycle tires, motorcycle tires, car tires. Every vehicle parked would be given a tire so that the monkey not come close. Oh yes, we just hold the stone and show it to the monkey then the monkey will move away from us, I mean no need to throw it just in the grip.
