Nollywood comic actor, Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe, is now dead.
Baba suwe is from a Muslim family, and from what I know about Muslim families, they don't waste time in arrangement of burials.
From what I heard, his death was announced by his son, Adesola Omidina, on social media. He said that his father died on Monday, November 22 at age 63.
The late baba suwe started his acting career in 1971, he was acting for both English Nigerian movies and Yoruba . From what I heard, he became known when he firsted acted the youruba movie titled omolassan. He became more popular after been featured in a movie titled Iru Esin produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997.
The late Nollywood actor/comedian often played the role of a confused servant or a security guard.
From my research, I also found out that his wife (Omoladun Omidina) was also an actress. She later died around the month if September 2009.
There was a time when baba suwe was arrested by the national drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA) in 2011 for trafficking cocaine. While he was In custody, i heard he was told to excrete the cocaine Wich they thought he had in his stomach, but of course noting came out. The National drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA) was later charged to court after harassing the legend Babasuwe, and was asked to pay a fine of about $155,000 as compensation and they were also told to apologise to him.
It seems they plan on burying the late actor on the 25th of September
This man is a legend and an icon not just to me but the whole Nigeria, he has a unique way of making the movie lively.
