Mozambique will receive US $ 880 million in capital gains from the sale of the oil company Anadarko to the multinational Occidental.

With the purchase of Anadarko, Occidental transferred the assets that the oil company owned in Africa to the French company Total. Thus, starting today, Total becomes the operator and leader of the consortium that explores natural gas in Area 1 of the Rovuma basin.

In August, the American oil company Occidental Petroleum bought, for US $ 55 billion, the American company Anadarko, a company that led one of the largest natural gas projects underway in Mozambique and Africa.
