A Brazilian prisoner had once dug up an escape tunnel for five years, hoping to escape to freedom, happiness and light...

Unfortunately for him he only ended up bursting his way into the room of the prison guards.

Now more than ever before, Many are like this prisoner, depressed, heartbroken and sick.

The aftermath of the deadly pandemic and the Corona virus lockdown means that a good number of individuals have lost their jobs, businesses and lives.

The constant struggles of life therefore means that if we cannot help others then we must not hurt them.

If you cannot be a pillar of support to someone don't be a stumbling block to them.

If you cannot become an oasis in a dessert of parched tongues, then don't become that harsh sun that dries them up.

At some point you must become the biggest encourager of yourself, even in the midst of pain and struggles, while we bandage our wounds and clean our sores.

The truth is, no matter how bitter, sick and cruel life gets a poem by Angela Morgan continues to resound in my heart:

In spite of war, in spite of death,

In spite of all man's sufferings,

Something within me laughs and sings

And I must praise with all my breath.

In spite of war, in spite of hate

Lilacs are blooming at my gate,

Tulips are tripping down the path

In spite of war, in spite of wrath.

"Courage!" the morning-glory saith;

"Rejoice!" the daisy murmureth,

And just to live is so divine

While we mourn our losses and bury our dead, LIFE MUST GO ON.

No matter how bad it gets, learn to appreciate the good things of life, the sun, the breeze, the rain, music and good books.
