Police in Slovenia have detained hundreds of migrants, including Bangladeshis. Authorities said on Monday that the migrants were detained from different parts of the border in the evening local time on Sunday after entering the country from Croatia. A total of 113 migrants were detained in different parts of the city on Sunday evening, said Anita Leskovic, a spokeswoman for the police in the southern Slovenian border town of Ilyirska Bistrica, AFP reported.
Slovenian police say most of the detainees are Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals. They may be sent back to Croatia. Emil Royce, the mayor of Illyraska district, told government-run Radio Slovenia that there had been an increase in attempts by immigrants to enter the country in recent times.
