Lionel Messi was virtually parallel to Ronaldo in the race to touch this milestone. However, leaving him behind, Ronaldo became the first footballer to achieve such a rare feat.
Ronaldo reached the milestone in the Serie A match against Roma thanks to a pair of goals for Juventus. With the exception of Sporting Lisbon's goals, Ronaldo now has 450 goals in five of Europe's top five leagues. Lionel Messi, who played for Barcelona, has scored 445 goals in La Liga.
