Shakib Al Hasan is a Bangladeshi international cricketer who was consistently no.1 ranked all rounder of ICC for a decade in all three formats of the the game. At present he is No-1 ranked all-rounder in odis and No-2 in tests and t-20s. He is 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall and a left handed batsman and blower (all-rounder) and wears the 75 number shirt in ODIs. His blowing style is slow left-arm orthodox.
Shakib Al Hasan was born on 24th March, 1987 at Magura district in Bangladesh. From his early age he was proficient at cricket and was often hired to play for different villages and teams. In one of those match he impressed the umpire who helped him to join a team in Magura Cricket League named Islampur Para Club. He had a six months training in Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Prathistan, a govt sports Institute. Then in 2004 at the age of 17 he was hired by Khulna to play the National Domestic League.
Shakib first represented Bangladesh at the U-19 level. He debuted against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports club on August, 2006.
Shakib made his test debut against India on 6 th May, 2006. He was ranked the world's No-1 test all-rounder for the first time in December, 2011. Then he became the No-1 Twenty 20 all rounder in December, 2014. He was appointed as the vice captain of Bangladesh in June 2009. In july 2009 Shakib was appointed as the captain when Mashrafe got injured during playing against Zimbabwe.At the age of 22 Shakib became the youngest test capital of Bangladesh and fifth youngest in the history of test cricket.
In 2009, Shakib was named The Wisden Cricketer's 'Test Player of the Year.' In June 2019, Shakib became the fastest player to score 6,000 runs and take 250 wickets in ODIs in just 199 match. At the 2019 Cricket World Cup Shakib became the first cricketer to score 600 runs and take 10 wickets in a single World Cup. He is also the highest run-schorer and the highest wicket taker for Bangladesh in ICC ODI World Cups.
Shakib registered the highest indevidual score of 217 by a Bangladeshi batsman on 13 January, 2017.
He has played 56 test matchs and scored about 3,862 runs. Along with that he has 6,323 runs in 206 ODI match and 1,567 runs in 76 T20I match. He has taken 210 wickets in Test, 260 in ODI and 92 in T20I cricket.
Shakib was ranked as the 2nd most valuable player of the Century according to Wisden Cricketers' Almanack and one of the most famous athlete by ESPN World fame 100 in 2019.
ICC banned him from all cricket for two years with one year suspended, after breaching the ICC's Anti-Corruption code on 29th October, 2019. In 2020, Wisden named his as the 2nd most valuable ODI cricketer of 21st century.
