Human being possess two types of vision, physical and spiritual. Our physical eyes we use to appreciate the world around us and the spiritual to see beyond this world.
It is only the word of God that can open our spiritual eyes. The efficacy of the word of God cannot be ignored. The word of God is power, the bible says 'For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV).
Believers require spiritual illumination as the spiritual controls the physical. As we allow God's word into our life through diligent study and constant meditation,our heart is flooded with light.
Paul in Ephesians 1vs17-18 prayed that 'The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints', this can only happen through the word of God.
John chapter 1 opines that ' In the beginning was the Word,and the Word was with God, and the Word was God'. The Word is God Himself. Our life depends on the Word.
