How To Avoid Vaginal Yeast Infections
A vaginal yeast infection is an infection caused by a yeast ( a type of fungus) called Candida. This infection is called Candidiasis.
Ordinarily, a healthy vagina contains bacteria and some yeast cells which protect the vagina. Once the balance between these bacteria and yeast cells are disrupted, an overgrowth of candida or penetration of the fungus into deeper vaginal cell layers causes the signs and symptoms of a yeast infection.
