The quest for Absolute Free Speech

There is much discussion about free speech nowadays especially since President Trump got banned from Twitter and Parler is no longer found on the App store. A good percentage of the American Population have always wanted to be allowed to say whatever the hell they want whenever they want at a public space. They didn't care if they were racist, sexist, homophobic or any other types of offensive, they just wanted to say it without consequences.

It seems like a lot of people moreso in recent times are on a quest for absolute free speech. Some Americans believes that you are entitled to absolute free speech. They see free speech in the Constitution and think it gives you the right to say whatever the hell you want. It doesn't matter how dumb they sound, they just want to say it because it is their god given right as an American. But can absolute free speech even exist in this world?

In order to have absolute free speech, one needs to accept all types of speech no matter how heinous they might. If someone wants to talk about child porn on your site, you need to accept it. If someone wants talk about killing your family on your site, you need to accept it. If someone wants to talk about killing the president on your site, you need to accept it. If someone wants to talk about the glory of rape, you need to accept it. Nothing can be censored, everything must be accepted but in all honestly who is honest enough and ballsy enough to accept all the trash that comes from unlimited free speech?

Despite people saying they can take it, a lot of them just can't. If you threaten a person's family and tell them how you are going to slaughter them into a million pieces, a lot of people will just loose it on you. They will try to limit you because it's only human nature to do so. Sometimes the law will stop you as well. You can't go around saying you will kill the president and allow all president killing speech to be openly presented on your website or platform because it is a felony to threaten the President of The United States.

Unlimited free speech might lead to some great conversations but let's not kid ourselves, a lot of trash that has no meaning and are conversations where nothing is learned will be spewed out of the mouths of those who think they are more enlightened than they actually are. It's only natural trash will come out of the mouth of a human being. It is human nature to say crude and stupid things. We all do it. However some people out there don't believe in the recycling of words but rather the open flow of it and it doesn't matter if it is hot, flaming and dirty...they just want it.

Why though? Do you really feel more free when you clamor for another Holocaust or when you yell a bunch of racial slurs? What glory does it bring? Absolute Free Speech, do we really need it or should we do whatever it takes to get it? For some people, the quest just never ends.
