Children with disabilities are the marginalized group in society. They are facing discrimination from realizing their rights to healthcare, education, love, affection, even survival.
There are around 33 million children with disabilities in the world.
Pattern of Disability:
Disability differs according to defective pattern-
1. Physical disability, specifically motor disability
2. Visual disability
3. Hearing disability
4. Intellectual disability
5. Autism
Causes:
Children may be disabling due to different reasons during birth time or after birth. The main reasons of disability-
· Hereditary
· Constructional
· Environmental
Child care service of children with special needs:
The care is for the children who need special care facilities. Each disable child needs special care and it is very rewarding if one understand the child and his special needs-
1. Observe the child:
It is very important to remember that the disable child needs special care. They need facilities like others ‘comfortable place, love, security, opportunities, to play and learn. The special children needs care more in different sections. They may need more time to learn, do any work. Special child needs more praise, influence, rewards, and encouragements to success any work.
2. Recognizing unique disability:
Every child care provider needs to understand the disability pattern of a child and its care. Sometimes, it is found that one child has more disabilities. In that case, child needs more care, facilities and inspirations etc.
3. Work for the special children:
A child with special needs should be given some extra facilities-
· Talking more times with the special children
· Help the special children to adapt with environment
· Building different programs for the special children
· Arrange creative activities to improve the capacity and engage in new world
· Arrange play environment with peers.
Special needs are essential for the special child care. We all should conscious about the care of child with disability.
