TightAsF_ck lives up to his name (and did some surveys for cash)
This is my first post here, so I'd just like to say hi to everyone! My username (and the title) might give some of you a hint about what I plan to write about here. But if its not obvious - I'll be describing my efforts to make a little money from some online endeavors.
In a past life (as a student), I was a member of a few online survey sites. I used to use these to top up my Amazon account and buy, well, computer games. I managed to buy a good few PS3 games, but soon other interests began eating up my time and the survey sites fell by the wayside. But I now find myself with more and more spare time, and so I started off reading moneysavingexpert.com for some tips on how I could once again make a little pocket money online.
Obviously there are many ways to make bank, but although I have some spare time - it is really spread out throughout the day. 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there. So I thought I would start up the online surveys again. There's something about earning a little bit of money when my partner has control of the tv that just appeals to me.
Anyway, last month was my first full month of rekindling my affair with online surverys. And I have to say I am quite pleased with myself. I managed to cashout £64.90 with another £68.19 pending. So I made £133.09 in total!
Based on this small (or large) success, I want to try and commit to a year of online money making to see how well I can do. Can I make £1000 in a year? £2000? £3000? Since I don't have too much time (last month included the Christmas holidays), I want to aim for £1000. Will £83.33 will be manageable in my little breaks throughout the day?
I don't know, but I'm going to keep track of my efforts here. I don't expect anyone to read this, but hopefully I will surprise myself at the end of the year!

Brief review/notes on the sites I used.
This is a smartphone app that allows you to take surveys on the app. I really like it as there are a lot of reasonably short (2 - 5 minutes) surveys that you pay a reasonable amount (£0.20 - £0.50). It doesn't screen me out very often, and the payouts are instant. I cashed out to PayPal and Amazon vouchers, but there is also Revolut and many other vouchers. Mostly, I've been doing this whilst sitting on the toiler!
This is a survey website and app. I also like this as you can do the surveys on your phone. I didn't like this as much as I seem to get screened out on a lot of the surveys, which was frustrating. But the surveys do seem to pay a reasonable amount
This one is just a survey website, but it is accessible from your phone. It doesn't pay the best, but I gave it a good do anyway. I cashed out to Amazon vouchers (there's a good choice), and the payment was nearly instantaneous. I probably will not continue with it.
I joined this survey website some time ago, but never gave it a try. I wish I had discovered it sooner. The surveys are all very interesting, and I think it has the best payout of all the apps I have tried. Will definitely keep this up!
This site/app one was definitely the most fun, and was the one I used in my first life as a survey monkey. There are many ways to earn on SwagBucks, but I have mostly been trying the game offers. I played two casino style games and managed to rack up about £50 in pending points. I just chose a mastercard for the payout yesterday. So I really hope this goes through!
Seems very similar to Opinion Outpost. I haven't cashed out of this yet, as I was hoping to save for a £30 Mastercard. There are many other £10 voucher options, but the site charges £0.50 for these.
