As I have said before, market research has never been easier, in the last couple of years with Covid 19 and all of its shenanigans, everything is done remotely. It is now a lot easier to get invited to market research at your convenience and earn some really good money doing so. Possibly over £100 for an hour's work.
We have explored market research and how to go about maximising your time and finding opportunities before and you can find more information on my market research page as well as following my rules of market research.
But there is always a big bugbear with me and market research and that is well two things. Firstly the studies are normally mostly while I am slaving away at my 9-5, in the hours of well 9 - 5. Secondly, the phone calls, after you have applied online and then they decide you are suitable you have to wait for that annoying phone call to ask you the same questions. Again if I was not working 9-5 or even if I was in a job that I could carry my phone with me. I would get on so many more studies but unfortunately, I miss quite a few.
'Dscout' is the ideal app for market research
'Dscout' is a very cool app available on the App Store or google play. That is a great way to earn some extra money online.
Just like other market research companies. They have a good array of studies that you can apply to. Earning really good rewards for your time as well. You can earn from the 'Live missions' so your conventional video calls with a researcher or online focus groups, where you will have a set time to partake in the study.
They also have 'multi-part missions', where again you can earn great rewards, but a lot of these are hugely better, as instead of completing the live 1 to 1 video call. You earn money by recording some self-recorded videos of yourself in answer to some written questions. Meaning that you can do these studies in your own time.
I love these ones if I can get on them because then I can earn my money whilst everyone is asleep. instead of trying to leave work early to do a study, or do them while the kids are screaming at me that one has stolen Thomas the tank engine and hidden it under barbies skirt. Because you know as soon as you sit down for work at home carnage will ensue.
The application process
Alongside the convenience of some studies, the application process for the studies is again more convenient. All can be done through the app, with some questions and then normally if you are suitable a selfie-style video for 30 seconds, to see if you are suitable.
Again these are good as you then don't have to worry about the phone call coming later on but be mindful if you are applying you will probably need some privacy for the application process. Often they will want you to show them the products that they might be asking you about as well. So arguably not as convenient in the application process.
It must be said however though that the application process isn't maybe as quick as some of the other market research companies. with fair few questions at times. So as always I would only apply for the ones that you can actually complete, and probably best to do subjects that you actually know about as otherwise, you may come unstuck in the selfie stage if they want to see a certain item or product, or if it is clear that as a 32-year-old man, you have no idea about the different types of waxes that are used to shave your legs.
You will then normally find out a few days later whether you have been successful with further details to complete the studies.
The studies
The multi-part studies that I have completed have been so beneficial with the time, they have been a mix of questions and selfie videos and in comparison to the time taken to complete them it is very much worth it.
The reward has been so worthwhile. £100 for one study that probably took me in total 40 minutes. Another one £75 that cannot have taken me more than half an hour.
The steps are always really clear to go through to complete the studies with clear instructions. With support available as well if there are any problems.
Payment
'Dscout' pays you when the study closes, conveniently through Paypal. Support will always keep you updated about the payments when they start being processed and when you will likely receive them. This is always encouraging.
Conclusion
Overall I really like Dscout, an alternative market research provider that has a great application system, and allowing me to do some big studies in a time that is convenient to me is a great game-changer. As well as being well worth your time, great rewards and an easy payment process.
That being said the application process can be a laborious one, but as with all market research once you get into one it normally pays for the time you took to apply for quite a few. The studies have to be said is quite sporadic, I have had some joy with them, but very few studies have I gained access to them. I think part of the reason why is applying for things that I probably wasn't suitable for (like the leg shaving one). But if you are looking for ways to earn money online, that is worth your time, that you can do at your own convenience, then Dscout needs to be taking up some of the space on your phone and I would suggest checking it weekly to see what studies you could be doing to top up your bank balance.
Thanks again for reading, love to know your thoughts about the app and what you think
