Laments Of Pain
I have known pain,
I have known pain to be an unpleasant sensation.
To inflict suffering with an unjust decision.
To create fear, discipline but suicide isn't an option.
I have known pain since the struggle at childbirth.
With tears like that of a stillbirth.
I have known pain for as long as I've lived,
For all that I have were bereaved.
I have known pain since my childhood days.
Where being poor is classified by feeding on grains.
I still hear the cry of the native berger,
Caused by distress insatiable wants and hunger.
I have known pain to be the darkened gaze of a widow.
Whose light has being seized by death through the window.
And all she had left is an old mirror -
For her to reflect and God to Him she call unto!
I have known pain to be the feeling of empathy.
To the deceased who are now at peace.
I have known pain to be the brutal killing of farmers-
In their fallow farmlands.
I have known pain to be the feeling of anxiety towards change.
In a country, where our leaders clamour for negative change.
Without them considering the future of this great nation.
So our economy won't be in jeopardy like toxical nature.
I have known pain to be the act of fraudulent activities-
In a country where her citizens are glued to cybercrime.
While the law enforcement agencies have abandoned her constitution-
And the youths are ready to kill in swift action.
I have known pain to be the lack of zeal for education.
In our country where academics is joined to vocation.
To create more opportunities and employment in our nation-
Where amalgamation has caused greed for power and destruction.
