What an upside-down world we live in don't we! Before vegans and vegetarians were barely around and the food options were super limited compared to today's market. Now, all you have to do is turn the other corner and you can see the newest variation of a veggie burger or a brand new vegan/vegetarian restaurant opening up. Of course, the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle wasn't always this mainstream before.
As a 14-year-old vegetarian back in 2014, people would ask me things like "Oh, so what can you eat here," or "How do you get your protein without meat?" These questions got annoying pretty quickly because I knew exactly where and how I not only got my protein, but also the other major nutrients for the human body. Additionally, most dine-in, fast food restaurants, and convenience stores, all had something I could eat.
After nearly a decade of being a vegetarian, vegetarianism and veganism have finally become more widespread. For many years, people did not care too much about the vegan/vegetarian diet. They did not find true value in consuming less meat while eating more greens and fruits. Fast forward to 2020 and in almost every grocery store you'll find a section dedicated to plant-based products.
I would be dead wrong if I said that being vegetarian or vegan will lead you to a healthier life. I better than anyone knows it's probably the complete opposite. In fact, if you look at most of the frozen vegetarian/vegan section in the supermarket, you'll find meatless versions of the same junk food meat-eaters consume.
In conclusion, vegetarians and vegans today are spoiled! There is so much vegetarian/vegan food out there right now and huge companies are emerging within the industry. Whether you are considering becoming a vegetarian/vegan, there is no better time to start than now!
