When is Free Crypto Not Free?

When it is the cryptocurrency FREE but it is really really close to free.

This morning I decided to dig into the cheapest cryptocurrency I could find on my trading platform of choice Probit.com. That honor currently belongs to the cryptocurrency FREE.

What is FREE

FREE is the cryptocurrency behind the Free Project. From their website the Free Project is

"The coin that gets everyone started in crypto"

and

"TheΒ FREEΒ coin, probably the best cryptocoin in the world for the starting cryptocurrency investor !"

I can't say that everyone is going to be getting started with this mostly unheard of coin nor do I think it is necessarily the best cryptocoin for getting started in cryptocurrency investing.

Digging further on their website Freecoin.technology, we can find that FREE coin is on both the Etherium chain and the Tron chain. So does that mean the FREE coin is actually two different coins? I think so.

So basically, FREE is a cryptocurrancy set free into the wild with little to no real project behind it. Currently there are 9 trillion FREE coins in circulation, with a maximum of 10 trillion.

What is FREE Coin Used For

Unlike most useful cryptocurrencies, FREE coin does not appear to have a "project" behind it. The FREE coin is just a coin. You can buy it, you can sell it, and if you can find an IVENDPAY vending machine you can even buy your favorite salty or sweet snack. Just be sure to bring a lot of FREE coins. One bag of potato chips is going to cost you up to 10 million FREE coins.

Again, based on the the Freecoin.technology website you can also stake FREE and earn up to 2% annual return. With yeild farming being all the craze right now, I don't see anyone flocking into buy FREE to earn a 2% return. But you never know. Maybe someone will find a way to add it to a balancer and drive some crazy return.

Is FREE a Dead Coin?

Well that depends on your definition of dead.

If by dead you mean the project behind the coin is no longer active, then yes, it is dead. Or maybe it is better to say it was never really alive. Since there is no function for the coin it is hard to say the project was anything more than creating and promoting the coin. So if it was ever was alive it only had one heartbeat and that was when it was released.

But if by dead you mean a coin that is not being used, then no, FREE is not dead. A quick look at the FREE block chain explorer shows that FREE is getting traded, and swapped, and who knows what else about once an hour or so. While that isn't crazy activity it does signify the FREE coin still has a pulse.

How much does FREE cost?

Free is not free, but it is really really close. At the time of this writing, FREE was trading for $0.00000011. At that price, for $1 you can have over 9 million FREE coins. That double mocha latte you enjoyed this morning could have put 50 million FREE coins in your wallet. 50 million!

With a supply of 9 trillion, the current price reflects a market capacity of $978,646 which is kind of impressive for a coin with nothing else going on for it.

The chart for FREE actually doesn't look terrible. There has been a reasonable climb in price over the last couple of weeks.

And when you look at longer time frames you can see that FREE has cycled up and down a couple of times but tends to live in the $0.00000008 price range.

At the time of this writing, FREE is down 13% for the year, but up nearly 14% in the last 14 days. Trading volume on all exchanges appear to be around $10,000 per day so their is some liquidity.

FREE coin isn't the most exciting trader out there, but someone could make a little money trading FREE coins. Or lose a little. Just remember, buy low sell high! Today FREE is not at a low and is pretty close to a post launch top (the price at launch was considerably higher, but as is often the case, the price dropped quickly).

Why Should You Buy FREE?

I am not going to tell you that FREE is the best investment you can find, but there are a few reasons you might want to buy FREE.

Novelty. At this super low price you can afford to load up on FREE coin for well... almost free. Skip super-sizing your next lunch at McDonalds and you can afford 10 million free coins.

Bragging Rights. When that obnoxious co-worker starts bragging about how much Bitcoin he has in his wallet, you can whip out your wallet and show him that you have 100 million FREE coins. Lets see that jerk get 100 million Bitcoins!

Trading. Like I said above, FREE coin is being actively traded on several exchanges. With swings of 10-20% happening pretty frequently free could be traded successfully.

Holding. Since the project really doesn't have anything going for it I would be hard pressed to say this coin would be good to hold on its own merit. However, I could see this coin become a target of the Pump and Dump crowd. While I do not support such activities, they do happen, and when they happen if you were already in you have an opportunity to benefit from their bad behavior. Imagine holding 100 million free coins ($10 dollars worth) and waking up to see it has risen 500%, 1000%, or 10,000%. A rise of 10,000% would still put FREE coin at $0.00001. It sounds crazy but it happens nearly everyday in the wild wild west of crypto alt coins.

Buying Stuff. Ok, I don't see this as really being a good reason to buy FREE coin. But in the very unlikely chance that you have a IVEND vending machine in your area, you could buy a bag of M&Ms for a mere 10 million FREE. And wouldn't that be a sweet sweet treat?

Welcome to the platform! I like your article. πŸ‘

By the way, you could have also titled this article "The Fastest Way to Become a Millionaire -- FREE". πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚ However, that would be pure click bait. πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ
