Crypto portfolio: May 2022
Another crypto months has passed and the question is if we did had a crypto fall before a crypto winter or just a colder month in a promising summer.
So just like most portfolios mine went south. There are 2 reasons for that:
The overall cryptomarkets are down
I did withdraw a major part of my KCS holdings to fund a real life project.
Not really an idea which of those two did had the biggest impact.
The decrease in potential value is of course caused by the withdrawal of 190 KCS. The decrease in actual value was fueled by the market and the withdrawal. While I did hate to withdraw those tokens, I always said that my investments into crypto were to make real life a little bit easier. And when a bill has to be paid, the bill has to be paid. So that's just what I did.
Portfolio share
KCS was since a while the dominant crypto in my portfolio. Since this month it had to step down from its throne and settled on a second place, with a portfolio share of 20%. Maybe just like it should, BTC took over the crown and is back the leader of the pack. Hive still stands nicely on a third place, but if everything goes according to plan, it could lead the portfolio next month.
Positive things
While we had a third red month out of 5 this year, not everything was bad. I am very happy with the increase of almost 5% of my BTC holdings. Nothing wrong with that. Most of this did come from the Fury Charge from Betfury. This wont be soo much next mont, because I maybe do plan to focus also on other tokens beside BTC. More specific: ETH. https://betfury.io/?r=5e77bbc926d92f03013d9340
It was also a great month for my Hive holdings; where we do see an increase of almost 9%. Okay not enough to counter the market movements, but still nice to see.
Last great thing is that I am also back blogging on read.cash. While my income isn't great there, it does add up. With a little bit of luck and of course hard work, I could pass 2 BCH in June.
June
One more month before the first half of 2022 is behind us. In June I will try to increase my Hive holdings even further. It would be great if I can reach 7000 Hive Power. This would mean that my yearly goal of 10K Hive could become within reach.
Like written above; I also will try to give ETH some more attention. The 1.26% increase of last month wasn't bad at all, it could have been more.
Also I do hope that I can add another 25 KCS to my portfolio again. The goal here is to have 400 KCS at the end of the year. Time will tell; if I can manage this or not.
For the moment I al mostly looking at my holdings and not at the actual value of my portfolio. I do expect that June will be more or less a copy of May. With some green days but mostly red and a fourth red month in 2022. But I wont be bad if I am wrong.
Cheers,
Peter

The waiting has started!
If we have a more in-depth look at out life, a major part is filled with waiting.
Multiple times a day we are waiting on something. Sometimes we are really focussed on it, other times it does happen subconsciously.
We did setup the swimming pool this morning and now we do have to wait u til it is filled with water. And that will take some time because it does need more than 30.000 liters of water. I do guess three days.
But that gives me time to install the filter and the solar balls we do use to try to heat the pool! We are thinking about replacing the balls with solar mats for on top of the lounge.
But back to waiting. Waiting is a major part of our life. Waiting on special occasions, waiting until the work day is over, on a bus or train, until a movie of sports game starts! And so on.
Most of the time we do this with patience. But there are time when the waiting part is really frustrating. For instance waiting on the kids to get ready, waiting in a supermarket because somebody does want to talk to the cashier because it is their only social moment in a week. And probably the mist frustrating is in a traffic jam. In a traffic jam I mostly think that I prefer to be in the traffic jam then to have caused it. Glass half full or half empty syndrome!
But maybe the worse waiting is, waiting to fall a sleep!
Cheers,
Peter
You can't stop time!
Well I have to admit I am getting old and maybe at the start of a midlife-crisis! No doubt about it. Next month I will become 46! So in my opinion I am probably more than half way my life. And this does make you think! A lot!
Yesterday I was browsing through some old photos and will the memory is still okay, mostly I can place the photo in a blink of an eye, I can't deny that I am looker older. Not only that, my beer belly is also more prominent and I am really out of shape.
I used to be a sportsman. First football, then futsal, moving on to tennis, slowly shifting towards golf. And now ... euh ... pool! I kid you not. Im my mind I am still a sportsman but ....
On Sunday I did try-out padel for the first time in my life. This was with another couple. Both women doesn't really stand out in eye-hand coordination. So there wasn't a lot of running, just playing the ball back gently. But still I had sour muscles on Monday. Makes you wonder!
Also physical lot's of changes. Can't read anymore at evening without reading glasses. And when I do look in the mirror I still think that I would be a great catch for most women, but then when I do look at the photos I have to admit that this isn't the case. Maybe never was. The human mind does play dirty tricks with you! So I just think that I just don't stick well on paper :) Yep, that human mind again.
On the left me in 2016, on the right me in 2021, each photo represents one year. Simple as that!
Also the question: what do you want to do with the rest of your life does pop up more frequently than it used to do. Also the answers on this are getting harder year after year. When you are young, you don't think of time, and have many dreams. Some achievable other way out of reach, but still those dreams are there. From starting a family, having a career and owning an own house. Most of those boxes are checked when you did pass 40. Okay the house probably is still co-owned by you and the bank, but year after year your share gets bigger.
The career could have taken a higher flight but I quickly decided that I do want to see my kids grow up and didn't want to come in a situation that they are leaving the house and that you regret not spending more time with them.
But now that they are getting older and less interested at spending time with their dad, the question: and what now with your career pops up again. For the moment this is a hard nut to crack and still haven't found an answer which does satisfy me.
Cheers,
Peter
Troubles in (BEER) paradise! Shortage of beer bottles! A 40% increase for the cost of beer bottles!
There was an article in the newspaper this morning which did catch my attention. The war in Ukraine does impact all sectors, and apparently also the beer sector in Belgium. So yes even sectors you don't immediately link to the drama going on there.
It appears that there could be a shortage in beer bottles! At least in Belgium. The reason for this is that one of the major beer bottles factories is situated just outside Kiev. And due to bombardments of the Russian the factory is heavily damaged. Add to that one of the major glass factories used to produce beer bottles is in Russia, which isn't allowed to export the glass anymore due to restrictions.
We also need to understand that a beer bottle factory needs to run 24/7. This has to do with the fact that the glass oven does need to have a constant feed a liquid glass, if this doesn't happen the glass oven will burst. That is also the reason that it is tough for other beer bottle factories to scale up! There are just producing day after day the same quantities of beer bottles. The glass oven just wants to have a constant flow!
So far no shortage is foreseen for the Belgian market. This is because when you do buy a beer bottle in Belgium, you also need to pay a deposit of €0.1 for the bottle. You do get this back when you do return the bottle. So most bottles are re-used.
But also here only 70% of the bottles are returned. Bottles do break or are just thrown away! Due to this potential shortage the price for beer bottles also has increased from €97 for 1000 bottles towards €135 for the same amount of bottles.
For sure beer brewers who do have a lot of export could get into troubles. Beer which is exported is a bottle which will never return. So for each 1000 bottles of beer they do export they need to purchase 1000 bottles. I know common sense :)
I do think that 95% of the beers I do drink do have a deposit on the bottles, the only exception probably is Desperado!
Cheers,
Peter
Rags to Riches: sportsbetting
Like I did write a few days ago, I am back to sportsbetting. Trying to convert 50 TRX into a whopping 80K TRX. Only 40 winning bets in a row are needed :)
They idea is to mostly bets on the live markers.
Currently I am at attempt 5.
So far I wasn't able to win more than 13 bets in a row. But to give myself some more chances I do bank some winnings. I do have a schedule and when I am way ahead (aka won some bets with odds higher than 1.2, then I do decrease my bet closer to the schedule. This way I do give myself some more attempt.
Bets ideally suited for this challenge are set wins at tennis or quarter wins at basketball. But some lessons are also learned. Betting on the last quarter of a basketball game can be dangerous when one time is clearly in the lead. They just want to finish the game and don't care about the score anymore, while the other teams want to find some confidence for the next game.
By the looks of it attempt will strand at bet number 5. Still I will make a profit, because 60 TRX is already banked.
The fifth bet here is that Elise Mertens will win her match, but she lost the first set and by the looks of it, she is playing without any confidence.
If that is the case we will just start with attempt 6.
Odds of 1.2 represent a 83% chance of winning the bet, but the changes of winning 40 of those in a row are only 0.06%. Quite a challenge isn't.
Cheers,
Peter

Problem solved! Phew!
Well since a few months we do have a fully automated coffee machine. When our Dolce Gusto died, we decided that it was time for something new. While I do like the taste of Dolce Gusto, we did have 2 big problems with it.
The cups are rather expensive
There is a lot of pollution for sure when drinking Latte related coffee, because 2 cups are needed.
So after a lot of deliberation we decided to go for the Melitta Barista T smart. One of the three main requirements where checked by this machine.
2 bean containers so that both the wife and I can use different beans.
An outside milk container so that we both can use different milk
An automatic milk cleaning system
At least one a week the machine does need some small love by giving it a cleaning, but once each 2 weeks I do give it full cleaning, which does take me an hour or so.
This mean cleaning the milk system and brewing unit, but also completely washing the drip tray. So I did last Friday. But when I did let the water ran out of the sink, I did notice a small rectangle rubber.
Mhh, feels like Ikea! Didn't see anything in the brewing unit what was missing, nor in the milk system. Still I started to worry. Reseach on the internet, didn't gave me a solution. Not putting question in forums.
So, as last resort, I decided to send an email to Melitta themselves, to be honest with not a lot of faith.
But I did get an email this morning back from them with the solution:
So, disassembled the dripping tray and replaced the rubber.
Problem solved.

Peter

Is a new crypto winter coming?
First you do need to understand that I only did enter the cryptosphere late 2017, and with late I do mean December 2017 and of course way to late to the crypto party to be life changing. So, I can only speak about my own personal experiences.
# Personal
I do think that the stars aren't aligned at all for crypto. So, I do see a crypto winter coming or at least a very nasty fall. And yes spring and summer will come back. No doubt about it and nobody knows when this will be.
The biggest difference for me in contrast with my first crypto winter (if a winter is coming) is that back then I heavily (at least compared to the household wallet) into crypto. There were points that 80% of my investment was virtually lost. I was in for 15K euro.
This time, I do have a relatively firm portfolio, which is rather diverse and my investment at the moment is only 1.5K euro, which is a huge difference compared to then. Combined this lower investment with the fact that I have gone through such a winter and you will understand that I don't sleep worse or do have a lot of thoughts about it. If I would loose that 1.5 K my life won't change.
Also the fact that my crypto now works for me in stead of the other way around is a relaxing feeling.
But the difference is that I still do have the plan to withdraw 500 euro on a monthly basis out of crypto. We do life now maybe not anymore within 5 to 10 years. So with the drop in value and the idea that this withdrawal my not really hurt my portfolio this will be a lot tougher to achieve. But we will see how that goes.
# Perspective
But the situation now is completely different compared to the dark period in 2018. In those days, just like now lot's of fresh blood and fiat money did enter the market. Lot's of people did get burned. FUD was all over the place. One failed ICO after the other. And while the basis of crypto is still the same, the perspective is different.
We now do have DeFi, NFTs, swaps and so much other stuff, that it is hard to keep up. Lot's more potential of crypto is becoming more obvious to the general crowd. While in those days crypto was for the happy few and you probably didn't have a lot of friend or family members involved in crypto, it is now more wide spread.
But it will be hard to attract fresh blood and fiat money into crypto compared with 2019 and 2020. The situation in the world is completely different.
Inflation starts to hit us hard, more and more jobs are insecure, a stupid was within the eastern part of Europe and so on.
People will not only think twice or thrice, but 4 or 5 times before they will invest new money into crypto.
Without fresh money there are 3 possible scenario's:
- the ones who were in time in did swap a part f their crypto into stable coins will step into the market again and will feel like a kid in a candy store where it look like an all you can eat buffet! This will cause the market to go up and down, buying pressure followed by selling pressure. Investing their stable coins into crypto again and taking a profit shortly after.
- BTC will crush the alt coins. People will try to look for a save heaven and for most BTC looks like a safer bet than most alt coins. But with so many stable coins available that probably is the safest storage at the moment. But hey every Satoshi extra in the wallet, is ... euhm ... an extra satoshi!
- the alt coins will eat BTC. There is alt coins which do have a way better ROI than BTC. Without new fresh fiat money BTC will crush the alt coins or the other way around. The are even possibilities to earn BTC with having other alt coins in the portfolio, so I do think that such a situation is possible.
So yes, it is the same as back then in 2018 and also completely different. I will just continue my operation as normal. Only the investment rate will be lower and the withdrawal pace also. But if I can't sleep at night, it probably won't be crypto related.
Cheers,
Peter
Crypto Portfolio overview April 2022
Long time ago that I did write an update about my crypto portfolio, so a new update is due.
During April I was mainly focused by finding way to convert crypto into real life cash. So the growth of my portfolio was minimal. Still pretty satisfied with the results.
Maybe the biggest change was the switch to a new crypto broker, to function as gateway between real life and virtual life. Bitvavo is my preferred broker since now: https://bitvavo.com/?a=CD8055F220
If you do live in Europe, feel free to look into it and see it is cheaper than the one you are using at the moment.
Portfolio
While inflation is starting to hit us harder each month in real life, the crypto markets also did feel this pain and went South.
I did try to to fight the decline in value but did end up with a decrease in overall value of 1.19%. On the positive side the potential value of the portfolio did increase with 16.68%.
Share pie
The top 3 coins do have a combined share of 64% in my portfolio which is something I al trying to change. KCS still has the major share, but I am almost completed with accumulating them. The end point is around 400 KCS.
Hive is firmly second with a share of 20.52%. I did invest some profit into Hive because I would like to have 10K Hive at the end of the year. So it is a step by step process. The holdings of Hive did increase with 16%.
The BTC holdings only did increase with 3%, but still very happy with that.
Newcomers
I also did add 3 new tokens to the portfolio. Tho are re-entries, while the third one I never had before this month.
I started to accumulate Wink and Live again, trying to build a decent passive income, together with BFG of course.
The real new one is Cronos.
May
During May the main focus will still be the conversion into Fiat, but it will get a lesser share compared to April.
It would be great to reach my 400 KCS goal and maybe also will finish the accumulation of NEO.
The Cronos holdings would have to reach $400.
Besides that Hive will get the attention they do deserve and will try to increase the stakes in BFG, WINK and LIVE so that the passive income will start to have some effect.
Also great that read.cash does work again on the work laptop, meaning that I can engage more again and write some articles again.
Cheers,
Peter

My new preferred Cyrpto Broker
When investing into crypto, trying to fight inflation in the real world in the mean time every dime counts. So after some problems with trx transfer with the old "preferred" broker, it was time to find a new one.
The bottom line of this post, isn't so much to advertise the preferred broker I am using, but to make you aware that it could be worthwhile to investigate if there are other brokers or exchanges which does suit your needs better or are in the end much cheaper.
We humans are creatures of nature and due to this our nature is that we do like to stick to how it is and if it isn't broken don't fix it or make it better.
We do like evolution on the other hand but not a revolution. And in most cases this just does happen to us. To wake up and do a 30 minute investigation if things can be better or cheaper!
The new preferred broker
Well I did choose Bitvavo. This appears a trusted broker in Europe since 2018 and does support 27 countries in Europe.
And this one is a lot cheaper than the old one I was using. https://bitvavo.com/?a=CD8055F220
As example:
Suppose I did want to sell 1000 TRX
This would have netted me €59.26.
As you can see, Bitvavo does give me €60.37. Which is 1€ more. Okay this Euro on itself doesn't mean a lot. But I did sell over 80K TRX this year and suddenly it does have an impact Combine this with a lower administration cost and we do have a winner, in my case.
Not only that but they also do offer staking and a broader range of crypto's to deal in. It looks more like the combination of a crypto broker and a crypto exchange.
Se feel free to have a look at them, maybe it is an improvement for you, maybe it isn't!

Betfury $20K Bgaming weekly
Well if you do like slots, Betfury is the place to be, with more than 4000 slots. But with so many slots it is hard to discover slots you do like. Betfury has a solution for that. Each week they do put one of their slots providers in the picture with a weekly battle. This week this was a selected number of slots of Bgaming with a prize pool of $20K. https://betfury.io/?r=626123870faa64a17f4602fa
After a look at the slots offered, 3 slots did caught my attention. I don't like a minimum bet of over $0,2 which did eliminate some. The slots in question were:
Sometimes a slot does tick all the boxes and WBC Ring of Riches did. The minimum bet is $0.2, the sounds are great and I do like the setup, which is almost the same as Solar Queen, which I also like to play.
One round does exists of 10 spins. When you do have the Gloves on a reel, they are boxed and will turn into wilds at the 10th spin.
The theoretical Return To Player (TRP) is 95,48%.
So each 10th spin does feel like a bonus round.
As you can see in the screenshot above, I did had 9 gloves. 8 are boxed and one is used for the multiplier. But the wilds are more or less in the wrong place, to win I did need to same symbols on reel 1 and 3, which didn't happen in this case.
You do like the wilds more close to each other and preferable all on the top or bottom, like in the screenshot below.
But there is also a Free spin round, you do trigger this when you do have 3 scatter symbols.
This does trigger 10 free spins. All the gloves which does appear do stick. This could turn into a massive profit or when having bad luck into close to nothing.
It is a slot where the profit is made on the free spins and on the 10th spin of each round. The profit made during regular spins are almost none.
Results of 2000 spins
When trying out a slot you do need enough spins to get an idea. So I did play 200 round of 2000 spins. With a minimum bet of $0.2 that was an investment of $400.
And yes I did make a profit. Not a lot, but a profit is a profit. In total I was paid out $405.33.
On average I did have 7.2 wilds on each 10th spins. This is comparable with Solar Queen.
I did trigger the free spins in total 10 times, so on average 1 out of 20 rounds, which is according to me on the lower side compared to Solar Queen.
Those 10 free spins where good for a pay-out of $60.66, with a low of $0.39 and a high of $25.28.
This is probably good enough to end in the top 200 of the weekly battle, which would give me a prize of $40. 30% in USDT and the other 70% in BFG.
So, feel free to join me at: https://betfury.io/?r=626123870faa64a17f4602fa

Deep thoughts!
While our lounge corner isn’t completely finished yet, it is nice to smoke outside with some light and cushions. The plan is to complete the lounge on Monday with fixed lights and a heater.
In the mean time I can sit here, smoke and do lots of thinking.
Thinking how hard it is for my son mentally with hos injury, about the slow recovery of my wife from Covid, about the future …
Also thinking about the to-do list which is continuously growing. This due to laziness on one side and the lack of motivation to do something after work on the other side.
It is hard to work 40 hours per week for the client and a demanding employer. It sometimes feels that my direct boss within the own company demands more and more.
That’s why I secretly am thinking about stepping over to the client. But that is a difficult situation with lots of legal stuff involved. They aren’t allowed to ask me if I do want to make a move, nor am I.
Still the first signals from both sides have been broadcasted in silence.
Next week we will sit around the table and see what is possible.
It should be a win for both the client and myself. I am willing to sacrifice some benefits I do have at the moment. Like a company car for instance.
So lots of things to think about!
Cheers,
Peter
From BTC faucet towards 1 BTC in one year! Update 3
Well this update is due. Certain things happened in my life, which just crushed my motivation to write about anything. This goes from Covid to the unexpected death of a dear friend. Life is just hard from time to time and I trying to get back into a normal routine, which looks like this is easier said than done.
In the mean time, I did continue my challenge to earn a mighty 1 BTC out of thin air. Nothing is impossible in crypto; but maybe this one is a bridge too far.
You can read the original article here:
https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/from-btc-faucet-towards-1-btc-in-one-year-0077d086
But for the moment, I am still running according to plan, even better I do have a small advantage.
State of affairs!
My last update was around 2 months ago. Back then I did had 43650 sats. Not a lot. If everything went according to plan I should have 83446 sats. But I do have a whopping 237478 sats. So 0,002 % completed 😂
You do see a major leap in the chart on yesterday. I finally did reach 100.000 reward points and did convert them into 100.000 sats. Of course this is a firm push in the back.
The problem I do ran into at the moment is that if I do want to stay on track, I should earn/win around 6000 sats per day. Which is a lot, knowing that my base bet if only 8 sats. Of course I can increase my base bet or the odds, but I'm not ready for that.
Also due to the fact that I am not betting enough, my free rolls earnings are decreasing. At the moment I can earn 30 sats per hour. So that's around 300 sats per day.
So, my main income should come from the multiply game. Luckily lady luck still is at my side.
Since the past update I did win 60000 sats, not bad at all.
Premium
But the also the premium member rolls do help. I do get 7 free rolls per day. On average I do earn 17 sats per roll and 17 reward points, while not much it does help.
Earn BTC
One of the great things about https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 is that you do get interest on your BTC in your wallet. I do get 4.39%.
With my current stake this is around 25 sats per day. Again not a lot; but it does pile up.
Referral commissions
I don't have a lot of referrals, so the income from this is next to none. I do believe I only have 1 active referral, which makes it very easy for him/here to earn some extra BTC because I do share my referral income with my referrals.
So, by just joining via my referral you do get some extra BTC just for using the hourly freeroll and the free spin at the wheel of fortune (ticket is daily send by email).
My referral link is: https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
If you do want to win some free BTC each hour, this is the place to be.
I will try to more frequent updates in the future and let's hope that lady luck will stay with me!
Cheers,
Peter
From BTC faucet towards 1 BTC in one year! Update 2
Mmh, did want to write this post earlier but I was down by Covid. One would think that being sick for over a week would give a person some time to write some posts and comment on others, but I just couldn't find the juice to power up the laptop.
So finally I am back and here a status update about my challenge to earn one mighty BTC for free on freebitco.in. One of the greatest BTC faucets around. https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
You can read the original article here:
https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/from-btc-faucet-towards-1-btc-in-one-year-0077d086
The progress
When I did wrote my last update, I did have a miserable 13750 sats. Let's see if I did made some progress.
According to the plan I should have around 20987 sats at the moment, but it appears that I am well ahead of plan with 43650 sats. Still for away from my goal, but still according to plan. Still need to remind myself that this is a marathon and not a sprint.
The blue line is the expected path while the green line are the actual holdings.
Since the last update I was lucky that I didn't had to record a losing day, but probably I did jinx it with writing this.
To bad my faucet income is declining, probably next week it will go down to 30 sats per hour. Which does force me to gamble a little bit. Or not. The free 7 free daily spins I do get as being a premium member do also put some extra sats in the wallet. On average I do get 17 sats per spin, so close to 100 sats a day extra.
Those daily hourly freerolls did earn me around 17K sats.
Around 13K sats were won with some gambling.
Reward points
And something great is coming closer. Will probably need another month or so, but then I finally can swap my reward points into Sats. For 100.000 RP you do get 100.000 sats, which would give the challenge a firm push in the back.
A little bit more then 10000 RPs are needed to pull this trigger. You do earn reward points with the hourly freeroll, gambling and of course also with the premium spins. Around 100 RPs per day are earned with the premium spins.
Referral **Commissions**
I don't have a lot of referrals. Only 14 and mostly 2 or 3 are active. But I do share at the moment 10% of my referral income with them.
I know that it isn't much and I do want to increase this, only one more referral is needed. After I do have 15 referrals I do increase this to 15%.
So don't hesitate to use my ref link and earn some free bitcoin:
https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
Next month
It would be great to reach 50K sats before the month is over but that will be a close call. And with the gambling it can go both North and South. Lady luck will decide for a little bit.
While the bankroll is still peanuts it is growing on a daily basis, which is the way I do like it. The plan started with an increase of 2.64% of the bankroll on a daily basis; but I have been able do decrease this to 2.5%. While this doesn't sound like a big difference, it is!
Cheers,
Peter
Read.Cash January earnings!
January 2022 is already a few nights behind us, so it is time to see how I did perform here on read.
First of all I do want to thank the read.cash community to engage with me and show interest in me or my articles. I know and acknowledge that my English ins't perfect not is my writing style superb. But still people do interact with me, which I do appreciate a lot.
Twitter!
For the first time I did publish some links to my articles here on read.cash on twitter. The reason behind this is two folded, it is always great to have some people aware of read.cash and BCH. That will never hurt. I secretly have to admit that also I wouldn't mind if I can score a referral. If I do understand it correctly, those twitter links do contain you ref link.
My second observation is that I didn't find a lot of links to read.cash articles. I was looking for a hashtag but didn't find anyone. So I decided to use the hashtag #readcash on twitter. It would be great if more people could do the same so that the hashtag would get a little bit higher on the ranking and more people will be aware of both read.cash and BCH.
I don't have a lot of followers on Twitter so I didn't expect anything; but the interaction on both articles were pretty good for me.
Engagement rules!
One of my main goal this year on read, wasn't so much BCH related but follower related. I started the year with 48 followers. Euhm not a lot. And I do want to increase that. There are multiple ways to increase the number of followers but I will be focussing on mainly 2 ways.
The most important one is reading articles and placing genuine comment and upvotes. Yes, I do upvote from my own wallet. Not a lot but the amount is growing. This is the best way to promote yourself and your articles, it is up to the other party to follow me or not. No, I am not asking or begging to be followed. I do see both action as promotion for myself.
The other way is boosting my articles. This way I do get a bigger reach than only the people following a channel/topic. This way my article is shown in feed from people I don't know but also they were unaware of existence.
I do assume that the money used to boost some articles does flow to the read.cash pot which is distributed then again by the randomrewarder.
But by the looks of it, both action work great together. My followers base has increased with almost 50% and is now a great group of 68 wonderful people.
The rewards
This is a nice side effect of writing articles on read. I did start here in the middle of 2021, with not a lot of hopes, trying and screaming for attention. At the end of 2021 I did earn $215 worth of BCH.
In the past month I wrote 14 articles, which is probably around my max I can write. And these 14 articles had a combined earnings of $68.77. But I also did use $3.29 to boost 5 of those. So my net earnings with writing are a whopping $65.48.
But was is also great is that all my articles combined do have 75 comments. This could be better, so I do have to promote myself more and maybe write better articles.
But If I can reach this, so can you!
Always open for a discussion, just like you are free to give me feedback about my posts/writing style/content.
Also remember to start sharing your articles on Twitter, we must all promote read.cash, if you do so please add the #readcash hashtag.
Cheers,
Peter

Rags to Riches Betfury Challenge: January report
Well I had the crazy idea in the beginning of the year to win myself 1M BFG on one side and on the other side 1M TRX. It is very unlikely that I will achieve that, but to have tried and failed then to never have tried at all.
The original post of the challenge can be found here: https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/my-betfury-rags-to-riches-challenge-e145b0aa
TRX
Let's start with TRX, which is much easier to explain. I did start the 1M TRX challenge on the 18th of January. To give myself something to start with I did deposit 1500 TRX. The idea is to increase my TRX bankroll with 2% per day. If I can maintain this for a complete year, I would end the year with 1.4 M TRX. Great isn't.
Yesterday morning, the opening balance on the 1st of February I did have 3761 TRX. So I did more than double my bankroll, which is a great start. Nothing alone did I had a huge jump in my Bankroll, I also already did withdrew 425 TRX from the investment.
It is great that I didn't have a loosing day yet. But for sure that day will come and those days can hurt the bankroll at lot, you will see what this can do to a bankroll in the BFG part of this article.
Also you can see that I do have some advantage compared to the ideal route, but that is to compensate a loosing day. A loosing day shouldn't be a disaster. It is a marathon not a sprint. If I would continue to increase the bankroll with a 2% increase on a daily basis; the closing balance at the end of the year could be close to 3M TRX. While this is a great thing to look at, I even will be surprised if I can build it up to 500K.
According to the plan; the closing balance at the end of February should be close to 3500 TRX.
In contrast to my early attempts I am gambling with a base bet of only 0.64 TRX. With in mind that I already did more or less did complete my February goal, I will try to decrease my investment in the challenge as much as possible in February, while still keeping focus on the growth of the bankroll.
BFG
The BFG challenge actually did start on the first of the year, but it has been a bumpy ride since then. In total spread out over multiple days, my investment into this challenge is around 49K BFG. Which is a lot and this should keep my focussed. While the idea is growth I don't want to throw this investment away.
The opening balance of the 1st of February was 66.255 BFG. So in the plus. Yeah!
That major drop was the result of back to back loosing days. On the 14th I did loose 29,43% of my bankroll; while the 15th was even worse with another drop of 50%. This is all the result of loosing my discipline.
After those 2 loosing days I did some correction and did brought down my base bet to 6 BFG, letting it slowly grow again to 10 BFG where it will stays as long as not too much effort is needed to reach my daily quota.
Since then I only had winning days and am ahead of plan. But I do know that that advantage can come in handy in loosing days.
According to the plan I should have 69K BFG at the end of the month February and just like with the TRX challenge I will also try to decrease my investment so that in the end to only things I can loose is pride and a dream.
The plan is still to have a 1% growth of the bankroll on a daily basis.
The great thing about an increase is BFG is of course that the daily divs I am receiving follow the same line, so far this year I did collect the following divs.
BTC: ,OOO19226
ETH: ,00166649
BNB: ,0221175
TRX: 108
USDT: 13,36
Not only was I able to increase my holdings but also was capable of withdrawing some of my initial investment which currently states at 47750 BFG.
Overall
While coins doesn't say a lot for most people for sure if they aren't familiar with the coin, a representation of the combined bankroll in US $.
The rakeback is also increasing week by week. So far for this year it states 121 BFG and 10,4 TRX. Not a lot, but it helps.
Don't forget that Betfury does give you the possibility to build up some passive income in less then 10 days. You can read all about that here:

Cryptoportfolio update: January 2022
Not really in the mood to write this update. Nothing to do with the current of the crypto markets but with a football injury of the oldest (13 years) son. There is nothing I can do about it, I just need to give it a place somewhere.
So, let's focus on the crypto again. And see how things will evolve.
Portfolio
Well we all know that January 2022 wasn't a great month for crypto. Looks like a hard winter is coming closer, but we all have survived at least one or many of those. And crypto is still here and always does come back closer.
So let's have a view at the overall portfolio before I will focus on some specific coins.
For the first time since October 2021 the overall value did drop below €20.000. But the difference between then and now, is that I don't have any fiat invested anymore into crypto. And due to the fact that I do see this as some kind of retirement funds or an apartment in Andalusia, I do have plenty if time left (I hope).
On the positive side, my portfolio is growing. I can focus on the blue line which does represents the value in €, but I do like to focus on the potential of the portfolio, which is growing month by month.
Portfolio share
Last mont Hive was the proud king of my portfolio but in the recent month their reign is over.
KCS is the new rules of the portfolio with a share of 27.16%.
Let's have a decent look at some coins!
Hive
Really happy that my Hive Power is back above 5K Hive. While this is peanuts for most, for me it is a big deal. While the value of Hive did drop 39.95% of it's value, my increase of 8.76% couldn't counter the drop.
BCH
Another great month for my BCH holdings. Mont after month my holdings are increasing. Last month the increase was 5.6%, but this mont I was able to almosyt triple that to an increase of 15.35%.
Also here, while the increase was super it couldn’t fight the drop in value.
KCS
While the value of KCS dropped with 19.97%, it still is the king of my portfolio. Also it is a coin in which I do have a lot of believe in and is more or mess the dark horse in my portfolio. The holdings did increase with 1.97%. I really did want to increase it to 350 KCS but I just missed that goal. But for sure I will reach that in February.
Ethereum
While I am not a fan of ETH, I really am fond of reaching 1 ETH in my portfolio. I am getting closer to that goal. I was able to increase my holdings with more than 10% and now have reached 90% of my goal. So with a little bit of luck I will earn that last 0.1 ETH in February. At the moment I am using some of my profit to buy more ATH. When I do reach that goal, I will see if I can explore some other markets/ coins.
February
If the trend continues we can expect that the overall value of the portfolio will loose another 10% or maybe more. But I will focus on strengthening my portfolio. Like written above ETH and KCS will get some focus and of course BCH.
Also Hive will continue to grow and it would be great to achieve Dolphin status again, but no idea how much Hive is needed these days to reach that goal.
Cheers,
Peter
Straffe Hendrik (Tripel beer)
The next beer review in my series. As you all know by now I am a fan of Belgian triple beers, which are strong blond beers. If I am not mistaken some countries do call it strong pale ale.
Why I do go to the beer shop, I like to choose beers which I have never tasted before. Of course there are some exceptions like Karmeliet and Tripel, which are always in my basket. So, I always do have the question which one I will try.
To solve this I did let the community decide on noise. I did create a beerlover channel on noise, feel free to join that channel if you do love beer. Every beer related post is very welcome. I am very interested in the beer outside of Belgium. When abroad I do like to try to local beer, and some are very good. Here is the link to the noise channel:
https://noise.cash/c/beerlovers-7k35qqaj4566
While there was only a short time between posting the question and popping the bottle, only one reply did came in in time. Thx @Pantera Next week I will ask the question in the morning, so that the community will have more time to react.
The community had to choose between
So as written above, Straffe Hendrik it was.
Straffe Hendrik is brewed by De Halve Maan (Half moon) In Bruges.
Besides this tripel they also do brew a quadruple, which is a strong dark beer. But they also brew Brugse Zot and Brugs Tarwebier.
I did drink it before but I did forget the taste of it. And since writing these post, I do have a complete different approach to tasting a new beer. From poring it into the glass, looking at the color to smelling it, concentrating on the taste and the aftertouch.
It is not the blondest beer around; but much lighter than the previous one, which was Leffe Rituel 9. https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/leffe-rituel-9-63de5888
After testing it; the first thing I did notice was the strong after touch. It was pretty bitter, which I don't always like.
I didn't taste any special, but this one isn't a top beer for me. So the next step is to see what the brewer themselves have to say about the beer.
The aroma is spicy with hints of black pepper, coriander and ginger, and is even insinuating the presence of oranges.
I do love black pepper but I do hate coriander. That's why I am not a fan of Thai food.
The palate initiates a hint of caramel, soon flowing into a certain bitterness. In the finish one can discover citrus fruits and even subtle flavours of banana.
Aha, here is the next problem. The second beer in the week with a strong aftertaste but also with a hint of banana. Very subtle of me to take the picture in front of our banana tree 🤦♂️ And I was right with the bitter aftertaste.
So the question is, will I drink it again? Well probably not when I do have to pay for it, but I still have 2 of those in the fridge, so yes probably I will. Have to make a mental note that I don't purchase it again. This doesn't mean that it is a bad beer, it is just nothing for me. Some like for instance dark beers, which never will be my favorite.
The alcohol percentage does put it in the higher regions. And the fact that they do have a refermentatation in the bottle, means that I could stay in the fridge for a long period. Maybe long enough to give it to a guest in the summer 😂
As last the techinical data of the brewery:

Peter
My Betfury Rags to Riches Challenge
As you all know by now, I do like challenges, the crazier the better. Take for instance my 1 BTC challenge. But it doesn't stop there. And while a challenge is great, it is also fun to write and discus them with others. https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/from-btc-faucet-towards-1-btc-in-one-year-0077d086
So today I will present to you my Betfury Rags to Riches Challenge. Due to the fact that this will run for one year, I decided to create a community about it. Not only here on read.cash but also on noise.cash. The idea is to use noise as Twitter on steriods where I can post daily updates, while the posts here on read will cover one or two weeks. https://betfury.io/?r=61f1c0b61c5ad415e5c548f7
You can find the noise community here: https://noise.cash/c/from-rags-to-riches-2k3gv8cm2wgg
Feel free to join if you also have a rags to riches challenge.
First let me introduce to you my 2 Betfury Challenges:
From 50K BFG towards 1M BFG in one year
From 1500 TRX towards 1M TRX in one year
Like always my challenges do start with, besides the idea, with a spreadsheet. In my case I am using numbers. Hey, I am a number cruncher.
The challenge!
Well earning something with playing dice isn't to hard to do, but keeping them is. The problem I always had was that my stakes were always the same, the profit was withdrawn and my stakes were plainly too bug for my bankroll. Combined this with a lack of discipline and voila disaster is on it's way and faster than you do think.
Another problem is that we always seem to be in a hurry. We do start slow but when things go great, we tend to start running too hard with as a result crushing down.
So in stead of running faster than I can, I will take a mathematical approach.
Let's start!
The mathematical approach
Suppose that there are 365 days in one year. This is a fact for most years. Add to this a starting bankroll of 1000. So you do set a goal to turn this 1000 into a magical million.
So you do start with the math. 999000 profit is needed. So you do divide 999000 by the number of days you do give yourself to complete the challenge.
999000 / 365 = 2737 (rounded)
That's tough isn't it? For sure in the beginning were you almost need to triple your bankroll in 1 day. Just a solid base for disaster.
But there is a less bumpy road to the same million, which has the same risk day after day, a road which allows you to increase you stake on a daily or weekly basis.
Suppose that each day, you would increase your bankroll with 2%. This means that the first day you only need to win 20. Sound more feasible isn't?
And believe it or not, if you do this for 365 consecutive days you will even have more than 1.3M.
So how do you get the daily increase you do need? Well this is simple. You do need 3 variables:
Your goal
Your starting bankroll
The time frame
Let's take my 1M TRX challenge as example. $
The goal: 1M TRX
The starting bankroll: 1500 TRX
The time frame: 347 days
So first I do divide my goal by my bankroll: 1000000 / 1500 = 666.666
No if I do take the time frame root of this, I do get the daily percentage increase I do need to have: 347 √ 666.666 = 1.0189
So my Bankroll should increase each day by 0.0189 %.
So the first day I should earn 1500 * 0.0189 = 28.35.
Day 2 I do have a bankroll of 1528.35, so I should earn 1528.35 * 0.0189 = 28.88 and so on. After 347 days I will have 994817 TRX.
So that's the idea.
I have been writing long enough now. So here are the first 2 graphs of my challenge. In the next post, I will give some more insight.
The green line is the one I do need to follow, the blue line is the actual holding of BFG I have.
Cheers,
Peter

From BTC faucet towards 1 BTC in one year! Update 1
Around a week ago I start with the challenge to see if it is possible to earn 1 mighty BTC from a BTC faucet website. You can read the original article here:
https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/from-btc-faucet-towards-1-btc-in-one-year-0077d086
The BTC faucet chosen to complete this challenge is freebitco.in (https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558).
So, now after a little more than a week it is time to write an update and see if I am still on track.
The progress
The blue line is the one I do need to follow, while the green line is my actual progress. As you can see the start was great, but then I did ran out of luck and lost around 55% of my holdings. I can blame only myself for this. To succeed I do need to gamble a little bit but I just didn't stop according to the plan. I did loose my discipline. But luckily I noticed this in time and didn't go bankrupt, which would have set me back a lot.
After that the only way was up, but I do know that a new losing day will be around the corned. This is part of the game. You need to acknowledge that and just take the loss and move forward again.
According to the plan I should have 11704 Sats this morning but with 13750 at the moment I do have a small advantage, which is needed of course. I should end the month with a little bit more than 16500 sats, which shouldn't be a problem, I even don't need to gamble to reach that mark.
Where did my increase came from?
Let's start with the hourly rolls.
Since last update I did roll an extra 230 times, good for a profit of 7308 sats, that's 31 sats per roll.
But to bad I also has a losing post!
Not nice indeed. But things do happen; it is just how you deal with it.
But also the Premium rolls do add something. I did had 126 premium rolls which was good for 2011 sats and 2641 reward points. I do need 15K more reward points before I can swap them into 100K sats, which really would be a push in the back.
Sharing my referral commission
While becoming a player a freebitco.in doesn't cost the player anything when he/she does use a referral link, I do share my commission with my active referrals. At the moment this is set at 10%, but I am willing to increase this up to 30%. Each time, 5 new referrals do sign up, I do increase it with 5%.
At the moment I do only have 12 referrals, so 3 more are needed.
I do know that this isn't a lot but it does add up.
An extra sats is an extra sat.
Next weeks
There isn't a real need to increase my holdings with gambling to stay on track the upcoming weeks, so I won't do that too much. I don't expect any problems until half way of February when things will get more interesting.
But I do want to get to 30K sats as soon as possible with minimal risk, when I do have 30K sats I also will start earning some daily interest, while not a lot in the beginning it does is a free push in the back.
Feel free to join me in my quest to earn one mighty BTC at:
https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
Cheers,
Peter
Leffe Rituel 9
It was way too long ago that I did write a beer related post. So it is time for a new one.
The chosen beer just does come out of the fridge. It is Leffe Rituel 9.
I used to like triple blond beers so I do wonder how this did end up in my fridge. Probably it was part of a package full of beers I did get. My favorite beer, used to be Palm which is amber colored.
After poring it into the glass, I immediately notice that this isn't a blond for sure, more like an amber colored beer.
Due to the light in the back, it looks more blond than it actually is.
The first impression
Before we try it out, I always first do a smell test. No idea why, but it is what it is. The smell wasn't too bad.
While the taste isn't too bad, it just isn't my liking.
It does have strong after taste.
Which does suit the beer style: Strong Ale.
I should taste some fruits and maybe it is sweeter than I am used to it. No problems with the alcohol percentage of 9%. Most of the beer I do drink are between 8 and 9%.
What does the website of the beer says?
Leffe's classic "meditation" beer. Leffe Rituel 9 ° is produced with additional hops that give it a long and intense aftertaste: for this reason, tasting it is a real ritual.
Well I was right about the aftertaste 😃
I can imagine that it does taste great with some steak, but I do think that the taste would overwhelm the flavor of the steak!
I should taste some banana in the aftertaste; the problem is that I really don't like bananas. So probably this is the biggest reason why I don't fancy this beer.
Due to the fact that life is too short to drink a beer, which you don't like, the question is will I finish it, or will I poor it away. I decided to finish it combined with some nachos. While it is not my liking it is too good to poor away.
I would grade the beer an 6.5 out of 10. But this is personal. A beer tasting is always subjective. I do think that some who do like strong ale really could like this beer and put it in their top 10, which is completely filled with Triples on my side. So you can guess why it doesn't make my personal top 10.
Cheers,
Peter
From crypto faucet to passive income in less than 10 days!
Well this sounds hard to do but it is easier than one would think. Of course you won't make millions with it, but for most it is a great start in the cryptosphere or for the one already familiar with it is just a small push in the back! And remember even if you only have 1 satoshi, you will have more BTC as 90% of the world population.
And yes, you can have a passive income in easily 10 days or less. How long it will take and how much passive income you will earn depends entirely on yourself.
And no there isn't any investment requirement.
Interested? Feel free to read further.
Where?
Well the place to be is Betfury. Betfury is an online gambling dapp, started on the Tron blockchain but now almost omni present.
From the start they did everything right and the sky is the future for them. There biggest advantage over regular bookmakers or casinos, is that they do share their profit with the ones having BFG staked.
BFG is the native token of Betfury. There are multiple way to aquire this. From gambling to purchasing it on the market.
How?
Not only is Betfury a gambling dapp, but is also has a Faucet part on their website. And the best things is that you can claim 3 different coin per 20 minutes.
I wouldn't ignore the BTC and BNB faucet while you are there. But the main focus for the passive income is the BFG faucet.
Suppose that you do claim it 10 times a day. You will have 1.25 BFG at the end of the day. Just by holding them in your account it is staked. Not only that but you also already do have 12.5 satoshi and 0,00001370 BNB. It is a start.
Also one BFG is around $0.02. I do really believe that it's value will increase during the years. Massivly.
But back to the Passive income. After 10 days you will have 12.5 BFG. From 10 BFG you do start earning a passive income.
Passive Income
So you now have collected your starting capital and will start earning some passive income, which can be claimed daily.
Like I did write above, it is a step by step process. But you know will earn some ETH, BNB; Tron and USDT on a daily basis. And you don't have to do anything for it.
But suppose that for the remainder of the year you do the same, so collecting the BFG, BNB and BTC faucet each day. The you would have 433 BFG, 0.0047539 BNB and 0.00004337 BTC.
But that 433 BFG will do it's work of course faster that you initial stake.
So, you can add some BTC, BNB, ETH, TRX and USDT to your wallet.
But ...
Of course you can speed up things. Suppose that after those 10 days, you do add the 10 times a day faucet and you do try to increase your stake with 1% each day.
Then you would have 3881 BFG at the end of the year, which of course does speed up things dramatically.
You can play their in-house game from 0.00000001 BFG. So there is room to play with. And yes, they do pay-out.
Feel free to try it out at Betfury. You won't regret it. https://betfury.io/?r=61e6f89e1c5ad415e5c37b37
I myself do have 25K BFG at the moment and do hope to have 1M before the year is over. But that is another story, which I will write shortly.
Feel free to use my ref link, which won't have an impact on your earnings.
https://betfury.io/?r=61e6f89e1c5ad415e5c37b37

The first opening of my 220 Chaos Legend Packs
Guess that I am not the only one who did purchase some Chaos Legend packs. I did save 800 credits in the past months. Due to the fact that I also had more than 20 vouchers, I could purchase 200 packs and got 20 as bonus.
While everything is itching to open them all at once. I won't.
There is even a probability that I won't open them all. I could be that I will save 10 or 20 to sell when all packs are sold out.
The rest will be opened in batches. So I did start with the opening of 25 packs today.
To make the math easy let's forget about the vouchers and just set the purchase value on $100.
I do open them in batches of 5. I still have some Alchemy and Legendary Potions. So let's see if they do their work.
First 5
Well the first 25 cards weren't exactly a dream opening.
No Golden foil; no legendary. With a value of $7.79, way below the purchase value of $20. The best set of 5 was this one.
Second 5
A little bit better with 2 golden foil cards.
The packs did have a combined value of $16.43.
Not bad at all. $24.22 after 10 packs but would have been better off purchasing those cards on the market.
Third 5
The opening of the next 5 packs, was more or less back 2 square one.
So again a loosing opening. But the combined value of $12.11 isn't bad at all. Remember that when you are opening packs, you are hoping on Golden Foils, Legendaries and Summoners.
Fourth 5
Still waiting on the magic of my potions. They could kick in at any moment.
And voila; a golden foil Epic card. That's why we do this.
To bad that the other 4 packs were just fillings.
So after 80 packs we have a value of $73.02.
Fifth 5
The last 25 cards for today. Would be great if we could score another Legendary or a golden foil.
That's more like it. A legendary and an Epic in one set. That does push us forward.
And a golden foil in the last 5 cards.
Conclusion
To my surprise, the combined value of the cards was more than the purchase value of $100. A profit of $5.87. But like we all know, lot's of packs will be opened and probably lot's of cards will be offered to the market, which will have an effect on the value.
After opening 84 packs, the combined value of my Chaos Legend cards is $356
So more or less break even. But with the purchase of those 220 packs, I will have more chances on some airdrop cards. Also due to the fact that I won't open them all, I will get some extra SPS airdrop points.
Let's hope the openings of tomorrow will be better!
Cheers,
Peter
From BTC faucet towards 1 BTC in one year!
Well in cryptoshpere nothing is impossible, so let's see if I can earn myself 1 BTC on freebitco.in (https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558) within one year.
I am always in for a challenge and for sure a challenge which doesn't cost me anything besides some time. So let's see if we can make ****one**** bitcoin before the year is over without any investment.
I know it sounds crazy doesn't? But I do think that it is possible. Maybe not from the first time, but with persistence, a good strategy, a feasible roadmap and lots of discipline this is possible! I kid you not. And the best of all, beside pride and some time, I won't loose a dime. Wouldn't that be great!
What is freebitco.in?
Like the name says, it is a BTC faucet website, where you can claim some free BTC on an hourly basis.
To do this is simple. Just create an account and you can win up to $200 in BTC per hour, but most of the time you will get 5 satoshi. But this can be increase.
As you can see I do earn 40 sats per hours. This is because I did gamble a little bit.
But also they do send out one email to you per day. At the bottom of each email there is a ticket for a free spin at their wheel of fortune, where you can win besides BTC, lottery tickets, reward points even an Iphone.
They also do send you a daily email, with a ticket for a free spin at their Wheel of Fortune, where you can win lots of prizes, including BTC.
I you do become a premium member, there is no captcha and you get free spins wheel of fortune.
I have been using this faucet for almost a year now. And now it is time to get serious.
How do I earn on freebitco.in?
I do try to use their daily faucet as much as possible, due to the fact that I also did gamble there, I at least earn 40 satoshi per hour, which isn't bad at all.
Beside that I do use of course their daily ticket for a spin at their wheel of fortune.
Due to the fact that I am a premium member for more than 270 days, I do receive 7 free spins on a daily basis on their Wheel of Fortune.
So, the three above and my guaranteed daily faucet income.
But I also do gamble at their multiply BTC game. At for the moment I am making a profit as can be seen in the screen below.
But also the free roll do earn me good enough to keep on playing there.
But hey you said you did want to earn one BTC, didn't you?
Yes I did. On the 11th of January I did have 0,00008071 BTC in my account, which will be my starting point. After some calculations I came to the conclusion that if I do increase this staking with 2.69% per day I would have 1 BTC on January the first 2023. What about that!
Now in January I don't expect any problems because I can increase my holdings on a daily basis enough by claiming the faucet, the free spin at the wheel of fortune and my premium member spins.
I will get more interesting from half of February, from when I do need to earn more than 500 sats per day.
Around the 2th of March, of everything goes according to plan, freebitco.in will give me a push in the back with their interest earning on my staking. https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
Things will start slowly but will increase on a daily basis.
You can do the same and/or help me!
Creating an account is easy. And you can start instantly earning some BTC pieces. If you do claim it 1O times a day, you can start after 10 days with a stake of 500 satoshi.
If you are tired of the Captcha, you can switch this off by becoming a premium member.
If you do, I would like to advice you to deposit BTC on their site and buy the fun tokens there and not on an exchange, due to the high ETH fees to transfer them.
I will share some of my referral earnings with the one who did use my referral link. I will start with 5% and will increase this up to 35% depending on how much referrals I do have.
My referral commission will be shared among the active users and based on their activity. Using my referral or not will not make a difference to you besides the fact that you are missing some extra sats on a weekly basis.
I will increase it to 10% when I do have 10 referrals. I only have 9, so 1 more is needed.
So feel free to use my ref link:

Do you think I can complete this challenge? Do you think it is impossible? Or you do have some spare seconds in a day and will try it out yourself?
Like always open for discussion.
I will report on a frequent basis about this challenge. You will read about my successes and/or failures!

Red days: brings back memories 😔
Well I did enter cryptosphere in December 2017. Just in time to have some fun days before it all went south!
Day after day I had hopes that the market would turn green again. We had some some bounces but most coins kept on sliding away.
In the mean time I just kept on buying with fiat, trying to cost average. Something which I did not regret in 2021.
But although there seems to be a lot of similarities between 2018 and now, there is a big difference. All my fiat money ever invested is back in my bank account and I sill have a portfolio.
Besides that I do have some passive crypto income, which means that my portfolio will grow overtime. Slowly but growing. So there are no plan to re-invest fiat money again into crypto. At least not at the moment.
Another difference is BCH. For once I do have chance to build up a decent stack of tokens of a coin which for sure has a future and a solid use case. And with noise and read there is an excellent way to earn some.
I will just continue business as usual. Sit back and relax while assuming that in 2024/2025 the market will break records again.
While the business continues there is no use in looking at the fiat value of my portfolio, I will focus on growing it as much as I can!
Cheers,
Peter
The potential value of your crypto portfolio!
During red days like this, the potential value of your crypto portfolio is more important than the current value. We all know that the price of crypto is very volatile. And regardless if you are a hodler or not, this does have/could have impact on your mental health or could decrease your faith in crypto in general.
Since the beginning of the year, I have move my portfolio tracking from Excel to IOS numbers. This did come with a fresh start and is still a work in progress. During the build of my sheet, I decided to add the potential value for the overall portfolio as for the most important cryptos in my portfolio.
What is the potential value of your portfolio!
Well this is relatively easy. The current value of your portfolio of for instance a coin, is your holdings multiplied by the value of the crypto!
So suppose that you only do hold BCH in your portfolio and to make it easy you just do have exact 1 BCH. Than the current value of your portfolio is 1 BCH times $390.62, making indeed $390.62.
But BCH isn't at his all time high. The all time high of BCH is $3,785.82. So the potential value would be 1 BCH times **$3,785.82.** That is a huge difference than the current $390 isn't?
So, if you do this math for all coins in your portfolio, you will have on one side the current value of your portfolio and on the other side the potential value of your portfolio!
Let's take my BCH holdings as an example!
As you can see, I am holdings BCH since the beginning of last year. The blue line is the current value of my BCH holdings, while the green line is the potential value of all my BCH holdings. With this red day of today, you can see that my current value did decrease with around €36, while my potential value did increase with almost €228.
How can this give you a better insight in your portfolio?
Well there are multiple metrics that can be used.
First of all when you are a real hodler, the potential value of a coin of your portfolio can never decrease, regardless of what the market it doing. The all time high will still be the same in a bear market or in red months. The only reason that the potential value of your portfolio of from a crypto can decrease is when you do sell some of it.
I for instance do make monthly statements/posts of my portfolio. In 2021 the current value was almost every month increasing, but if we do enter a bear market there won't be many months in the green. But hey I am still building up my portfolio, earning some passive income, earning some BCH by blogging and so on. But during a real red month, the current value of my portfolio can go down, while I did increase the holdings of some coins.
But when I do have a look at the potential value then, I do see an increase. This because I do own a bigger amount of some crypto.
Now you can say that you can also look at the increase of the holdings of a specific crypto, which is correct! But human beings as we are (or most of us). We do like to also see the value in fiat money.
Secondly if you do want a complete insight in the overall portfolio it is hard to see if it is climbing or going South!
The potential value of this portfolio does give you this insight.
Also here the blue line is the current value; while the green line is the potential value. The blue line had a great ride in 2021, but since the end of the year the fun ride is over and decided to go south. The green line on the other hand had the same ride as the blue line, but continues to increase on a daily basis.
You can also see in the green line that I did sell some coins in March, which did hurt my green line, but 2021 was the year that I did withdraw all my fiat investments ever made into crypto back to real life.
Pitfalls?
Like always there are things which could and does blur the insight. Probably you do have coins in your portfolio which never will reach their all time high again! I kid you not. Even when crypto would take over fiat, there are some coins which will never come even close to their all time high.
Another pitfall could be that you do have all historical information. This is clearly visible in my KCS holdings.
KCS did break his ATH last year, but I don't know when and what the previous record is, this of course does give a blurred insight.
To get this insight, you do need to know how far a crypto is away from it's all time high on one side and you should have an idea if I could reach that ATH again or not.
If you do wonder if this is still possible, you should wonder why it is still in your portfolio.
As you can see, the gap between the green and blue line is immense, probably Fun token will never get close to it's ATH again, but the reason I do have this coin in my wallet is to be a premium member on freebitco.in. By holdings these I do get extra spins at their wheel of fortune!
Eos is another example of a coin where I don't have so much faith in anymore, that's also the reason why I did sell some of them during 2021, which is clearly visible in the graph below. https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558
I know that it is hard to say goodbye to a coin, but one it now only has 10% of the value of their all time high, it probably will never get close again. Still we keep them, hoping that a miracle will happen!
So, I don't know if keeping the track of the potential value makes sense or not. On one side it will always be a blurred vision due to the fact that it is utmost impossible, even in cryptoshpere, that all the coins you have would reach there ATH at the same moment, and some never will come close again, but on the other hand it is a pretty decent thing to track the overall performance of your portfolio.
Do you keep track of the potential value of your portfolio or not?
And does it make sense or not?
Open for discussion as always.
Cheers,
Peter
Some strange covid restrictions here in Belgium!
I know it is hard to govern a country for sure during this Covid pandemic. There are some many things a government has to take into account when announcing restrictions or rules.
The easiest way looks like a complete lock down, but that has many negative side affects, from the mental health of the population up to a immense negative return on the economy. On the other side each death of a person also does cost the government lots of money.
Besides that people are really fed up with all regulations and restrictions. While I can relate to that, I do think that still restrictions are needed to save some lives.
Regardless of that there are some restrictions which don't really have a great foundation.
In Belgium the government did announce lots of new restriction of week or 2 ago, but lots of sectors which were hurt did go to the supreme court. Of course every sector is fighting for their survival.
First the culture sector did win their appeal and now of course multiple sectors are filling complaints.
Here are some strange things:
No spectators are allowed at football games, nor professional nor amateur games. But I am allowed to go the canteen of a football club, which does belong to the catering industry. So, I am not allowed to stand aside the line of the field but I am allowed to sit down in the canteen without a mouth mask. Strange isn't!
While my favorite pub is a pool/snooker pub. We normally go there 2 or 3 times a week! Always with the same group. With 4 on Tuesday and mostly 3 on other days. Now the new restrictions do forbid to play pub games like snooker, pool, darts and so on. Due to the fact that this pub also has a rather big pub area he decided to stay open. So in stead of shooting some pool with the 4 of us we can sit at a table without together without wearing mouth masks. So we decided to play some cards. We also could have decided not to go there, but it is our men's night out.
Of course there is a bigger chance on contamination when sitting together at a table than standing around a pool table, there is just less distance between us.
There are many restrictions which do have a strange twist, but like I wrote it is easy to have critics on a restriction or rule, than to set it up!

Peter
My 2022 read.cash goals!
I did start around 7 months ago on read.cash. I knew that it was going to be a wild ride. Like always being new on a social platform one can expect some dark days. Days where you write posts and these post do go by unnoticed. Those are the days you do need to get through because if you don’t you will stay in those dark days.
Still I managed to write 54 articles here on read.cash. The one better as the other. Following the lead of @Pantera I did list up all my articles written in an excel and to honest I was surprised.
In total my articles did get 1571 views and earned me $215. What about that.
An article how I was earning BCH with Splinterlands had the most views (156) (https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/splinterlands-can-easily-give-your-bch-balance-a-push-in-the-back-9ad3a0b0).
The article which did had the biggest payout was an article about that I did want to reach 1 BCH before you year was over. This one did earn me $12.72. (https://read.cash/@TheCryptoGambler/suppose-i-do-want-to-earn-1-bch-before-the-year-is-over-what-are-my-options-and-will-i-succeed-b815e4d4)
So this is my story so far. But what about 2022?
My goals!
Followers
The first things I need to focus on besides writing good enough articles is to increase the number of followers. The more the better one would think. Will this is true it also is false. I do remember the days on Steem where I did have 10K+ followers, but that was just a follow for follow or bots following you. While there is nothing wrong with being proud on such numbers they don't say shit.
You better can have 50 followers which are really interested in you or the articles you write and do engage with you.
At the moment I do have 49 followers and I would like to see this number go up to I don’t know what, but I do know that I want to increase it.
The best way to increase this, is to engage a lot more on read.cash. So I am planning to write about 5 to 10 genuine comments on other posts per day for the complete month of January. Let's see in February what the impact is of that action.
Giving back!
While not a rich person it is also time to give back. It is easy to write posts and comments and do hope that the randomrewarder drops by. Probably this is how most people on read do play the game. And there is nothing wrong with that, but I will shift my focus.
So, I will upvote each day also between 5 and 10 post per day. Starting with $0.01 or $0.02 and we will see if I can increase this on a daily basis.
Maybe even trying out to sponsor a fellow read.cash user, which has a dual goal. First supporting that writer and secondly of course creating some advertisement for myself.
BCH
Now I can write that all BCH earned will stay BCH, but that won’t be the case. Will I do have the plans to increase the BCH share in my portfolio. I do have close to 1.5 BCH at the moment and it would be great to at least have 3 BCH before the year is over. But some BCH earnings will also be used to increase the holdings of some other coins. For instance KCS and ETH. Really would like to have 1 full ETH before the year us over.
Also I will try to spread to news about read.cash more on other social media. Because the more diverse writers we do have on this platform the better. While I know that this is double cutting sword. The more people the less you will get from the reward pool but the better it is in general for read.cash and BCH. @MarcDeMesel can't do it on its own!
Feel free to follow my journey on read.cash.
If you do have any tips how I can improve here, feel free to let me know!
Cheers,
Peter
Saying goodbye to my alt account on Splinterlands
During the past 115 days, probably a little bit more, I was playing with 2 accounts on Splinterlands. My main account, which mostly does end in Diamond III and my alt account, which just ended in Bronze III or II.
The main reason was that I did purchase 100 quest potions for each account, meaning that I did get 5 extra chests when completing my daily quest. This was very profitable in the beginning. Around 1.5 months ago, Splinterlands did change some reward rules, resulting in the fact that playing with the alt account, wasn't so profitable anymore. While I still got my extra 5 chests, I mostly got potions or small pieces of credits as rewards. I did have only 10% or something like that on a card.
Due to the fact that the quest potions weren't transferable, I decided the sit it out and would clear my alt account, when I did ran out of quest potions, which was today!
My last daily rewards!
See, lots of potions and remarkably one card. I will only use this account for the moment when I did purchase some Chaos Packs, so that I can use the potions when opening them.
What did I earn?
I do believe this morning the value of the deck was just above $700. Of course I did forget to take a screenshot of it.
All reward cards where won by completing the daily quest. The Chaos Legends Cards are a result of sending over 20 Chaos Legend Packs from my main account, the consume some of the potions.
So, the account is cleared now and only has the potions left. If I don't forget I will try to complete one battle per season, which should be enough to open 5 chests at the end of the season. You never know what is inside of it.
Not sure yet what I will do wih the SPS staked. There is no difference if I do leave it here and stake it on my main account, so for the moment it will just stay there!
Main account!
So the main account did receive a shit load of cards and the question was what to do with them. For the reward and CL cards, I tried to combine as much as possible so that the deck got a little bit stronger, but also decided to decrease my stake into Splinterlands a bit, by putting some cards on the market.
To my surprise the total amount of the cards on the market was higher than I did anticipate. In total I am selling my cards for $1266. Let's see how long it will take to sell them all.
The biggest share of the sales will be used to purchase some more BFG.
Cheers,
Peter
Did buy a Banksy Litho while ... euhm ... drunk!
Just after new year, a mate was following an auction in Ebay. The piece being actioned was a Banksy. Named: The girl with the red balloon.
He does know a lot more about art than I do. While I do know Banksy.
Okay I don't know him, almost nobody does know who he is.
So, just for the fun I said, place a bet of $125 in my name. Assuming that somebody would over bid that. This was 4 minutes before the close of the auction. To my surprise, I did have the winning bid. Combined with auction costs and shipping, the total bill was €138.
The litho has a limited print of 150 pieces. No idea which number I have. Also it is signed.
No idea if I overpaid it or if it is a correct price. Also no idea what I will do with it. Apparently the host of the party was also interested. Probably I will give it to him as a birthday present in June. He is a real friend and if I do need help with something he is always present.
Wondering if I could turn that into an NFT!
Cheers,
Peter
Crypto Portfolio Closing Balance 2021
2021 has been a blast crypto wise. My main goal was to decrease my fiat investment as much as possible without hurting my portfolio too much. I didn't expect to be able to recover all my fiat investments, but hey I did. So happy camper here.
Portfolio
I recently switched my portfolio into Apple Numbers in stead of Excel. Still haven't redesigned everything; so it will only cover the basics.
As you can see my portfolio is worth close to €25000. Not bad in my opinion. I did enter the crypto market late in 2017 and we all know what happened after that.
(After pasting the table in here, I do notice that I will have to add some colors to it)
As you can see on the bottom line, I can also say that it is worth almost €32K, but for some reason I am cautious with the value of my Splinterland collection. I still do see it as something strange.
Actually my collection is worth a lot more according to peakmonsters. But I decided to add only 20% of this to my portfolio. The real value is what someone is willing to pay for it.
What does interest me more and something I will focus more on in these reports, is the potential value of the portfolio. This is the combination of my holdings in relation with the all time high value of the coins. For some coins we already know that the all tile high probably never will be broken. Other still have a chance to double their all time value.
The reason I will be using this is to have a more neutral comparison between reports. The value of coins is volatile; so it is hard to compare the progress. Bu using the ATH of a coin; I hope to get a better insight how my portfolio is growing. At the moment the potential value is €52752. So regardless of a crypto crash, it will be the same tomorrow.
This value can only go up when a coins is breaking their all time high or when the holdings in that coin are going up, it can only go down when I do sell some coins.
Portfolio Share
I have always been reporting this, I will keep doing this in the future.
As you can see, Hive and KCS are battling out who is the ruler of my empire. One year ago, there was only one King, which was BTC. But it has been dethroned. Not that I did sell BTC or so, in contrast I almost doubled my holdings. The increase of holdings in other coins just went faster combined with an increase in value.
2022 plans
I always did make plans but for next year it will be different. The pressure is off due to the fact that I am rolling free. In 2022 in will focus on fun and trying to build up my portfolio a little but higher.
There will be some sacrifices but not a lot, I hope. I do see it as a hidden saving account and time will tell how much it ever will be worth!
So you can expect more posts on read.cash; noise.cash and Hive. And we will see from there.
Have a great 2022 health; personal and crypto wise!
Cheers,
Peter
