In life, people really want to be where they wish to be appreciated and their skill also appreciated, but alas it may not be so for many especially students who may not be performing well academically.

Looking back to what education actually stand for comparing to what it look now in this part of the world make me wonder if we are been fair to some students.

Today we appreciate academic excellence students many wish just read for exams and have ability to memorize things withing a short period apology to this set of people, neglecting others who may not be gifted in cramming things so easily but may be gifted technically to develop things base on just seeing them or through imagination.

Many will argue that they are also appreciated...let me say yes ,only when they finally become something in life but not many of them in their infant stage because they are disenfranchised in certain areas.

Some of this average students are subjected to emotional, physical and mentally bullying because they are not doing well in class like their peers. Some teachers even regret having them in class owing to the energy they will discharge on such student to be able to do well or atleast perform some task.

Do the educationist in this part of the world (developing country) consider that different students have different academic strength? Because there seems not to be such provision in qualifying examination

The same technical sound students will still compete for admission into tertiary institution with the excellent students and the same parameter used to judge them right from their secondary school which is to read and memorize will still be used for entrance exams. My question is how then have we ensure that this technical base students don't feel disenfranchised?

Many will say, but there are lot of technical school ,common let them apply to such school and not go compete in university. Oh great idea, but we forget that here we don't place their certificate as equal to those that went to the university even if they had spent more years than those in university, we still make them feel the university certificate is superior to theirs which is technical certificate.

All this have further increases examination Malpractices in this part of the world,as parents/ guardians will rather look for support mechanism for child even if they are aware that the child is a technical base students or average students. The parents begins to mount pressure on both the child and the teachers to ensure he / she perform well in the class, a child that is meant to be on the field using his skill to the fullest. Learning becomes a burden to the child.

Do you blame the parents?... Not fully, because the society paint the student as been dumb and not smart enough to excell in life, neglecting the child's strength in other areas

So many questions in my mind to ask,but many I don't even have perfect answers or solutions to them myself. I just hope one day we get it right.

Thanks for reading my article.....
