Tomos - mopeds

Many people think that electric mopeds and motorcycles are just "modern", but they have proven to be very useful and practical vehicles. They are very easy to use and maintain, move very easily through traffic jams, drastically reduce travel and waiting times, leaving cars (including electric ones) far behind in crowded city streets.

The impact of replacing a small number of cars with electric mopeds and motorcycles is so great because the use of e-two-wheelers drastically increases the flow of vehicles through congested city streets. In the space that even the smallest car occupies on the road, there are at least two electric two-wheelers that move on city streets much more agile than cars. Electric mopeds and motorcycles are not only more efficient, but also more fun. Drivers who travel by e-two-wheeler every day claim that driving brings them joy and is a pleasure. You will forget about traffic jams and public transport crowds and you will arrive everywhere and always on time! A moped is a two-wheel motor vehicle that cannot develop a speed greater than 45 km / h, and whose engine displacement does not exceed 50 cc, or whose engine power does not exceed 4 kw when the vehicle is electrically powered. Tomos - After World War II, the Yugoslav government sought to develop the industry. A company for the production of two-wheelers was founded in Sežana in 1954, and a license agreement was soon signed with the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch.

TOMOS, short for TOvarna MOtornih koles Sežana, is a well-known Slovenian manufacturer of motorcycles and mopeds, based in Koper, Slovenia. In 1954, Tomos bought a license to produce moped models from Pooh. Since then, he has made various models for the Eastern European market, including motorcycles, mopeds, outboard boats, as well as Citroen cars for the domestic market. In the 1970s, Tomos continued to develop new Hummingbird models that would later become very popular, such as the Hummingbird 15SL or 15 Sprint.  The first series that had the "15" mark in it started with the Colibri 15 Touring model, this model had a similar chassis as the Tomos 14 models. The Hummingbird 15 Touring got a five-speed transmission, it can be freely said that this is Tomos' first 5-speed model. The unit still maintained a displacement of 49 cc and engine power was 4.2 hp at 6,200 rpm. The top speed was 75 Km / h, which at that time was a solid speed for a 50 cc engine.
