BCH4GOOD First Outreach, Visit to almajiri school.
It is sad to see how young people become homeless, lack education, and most importantly lack what to eat, this is one of the things that is still a problem to almost all of the African nations Nigeria as the strongest economy in the region also included.
there are a lot of factors that kept students out of their homes and schools. in Nigeria and some countries in the western part of Africa, the Almajiri system of education is included.
According to a simple google search, Almajiri is
"Almajiranci is a system of Islamic education practiced in northern Nigeria and it is also the name for a young boy who is taught within this system, the system is called Almajiranci, the male gender seeking Islam knowledge is called Almajiri, the female gender is Almajira"
with many years that pass the definition and meaning of almajiri in northern Nigeria has changed, as we learn from history, it all started as simple as taking your child to boarding schools where you just need to provide feeding and learning material for your child you don't worry about education, values, and morals the school will take care of that you.
A huge number of parent takes that as a solution to the problem they have for being unable to feed, educate their children as they have many children to care of, they mostly send out boy from the age of 9 to 16 out to the Almajiri school named (Tsangaya) in the Hausa Language as they are unable to support their children with proper feeding and live materials the almajiri Teacher (Gardi) has no option but to let the children go out on a street to find for themselves, some of these almajiri teachers are having more than 100 or 200 children in there control and they cannot afford to feed them and some of the parents will not return to their children forever, as you can guess they are now parentless.
The same narration we got when I and the team #BCH4GOOD pays a visit to an almajiri school closed to us, it's really sad to see where they stay and study not to talk about how they feed themselves, The Almajiri Teacher gives us the overview of how difficult things are for them, we have a long discussion with him we learn lots of there problems and some possible solution to the problems and we also learn that the teacher is now sending out some adult among the student for an artisan for them to become independent and to not be a threat to the society.

In short, we have a good time with the teacher and also the children, we distributed the little we have with them. Soap, detergents, food items, insecticides to prevent mosquitoes. the teacher prays for us and our project and accompanies us out of the compound with a happy face.
