There are hardly any people who don't know Bear Grylls, the presenter of Discovery Channel's popular TV series Man vs Wild. Bear Grylls is a British explorer, writer and television presenter. He was born in 1964 in England. He is also quite popular for his struggle to survive in hostile environments and his bizarre diet.

* In 1997, at the age of 23, Bear Grylls climbed Mount Everest. His fame spread all around because he conquered Everest as the youngest person. His name also rose in the Guinness Book of World Records. However, his record has been broken 4 times so far.

* The funny thing is that the real name of Bear Grylls is Edward Michael Grylls.

* His only sister Lara started calling him ‘Bear’ when he was just 1 week old.

* Received a black belt in the sport of beer karate.

* He has worked in the British Special Air Service for 3 years.

* Just 1 year before conquering Everest, Bear had an accident while jumping with a parachute. In this incident 3 bones of his spine were broken.
