Reasons why there may be a lawsuit against the vehicle

If you do not have valid documents - registration certificate, fitness certificate, tax token, insurance, route permit for general transport, above all, driver's license, etc., can be sued under the Motor Vehicle Act. These are called documentary cases.

Mistakes or disobedience to traffic laws - driving without traffic signals / lights, driving at dangerously fast speeds, changing lanes from time to time, talking on mobile phones while driving, riding a motorcycle without a helmet, etc. can lead to lawsuits.

Vehicle Defects - Various vehicle defects such as headlights not on or off, indicator lights not on or off, general transport / lack of particulars or details on the body of the vehicle, owner or owner's name and address, addition of extra seats to the vehicle or BRTA approval Vehicles may be sued for any addition or alteration, etc.

What to do if there is a case

There can be lawsuits for breaking any law. If a case is filed under the Motor Vehicle Act for documentary or any other reason, it is not a matter of special concern.

The city of Dhaka has four zones or areas (east, west, north and south) of the traffic department of the police. A Deputy Commissioner (DC Traffic) is in charge of each zone. Therefore, in case of any case, it is necessary to consider first which area it belongs to. The case under which the case was filed is written on the back of the ticket issued during the fine.

The case can be settled easily by going to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned zone and performing some official duties. In this case, a specific fine has to be paid. The judge or DC determines the amount of the traffic fine. The finer can impose a fine of up to 1 / 4th of the full fine, or even waive it. It is necessary to understand the documents seized immediately after the payment of the fine.

Payment of fine through bank / mobile phone:

You can deposit the fine of the case at any branch of United Commercial Bank Ltd. (UCBL) in Dhaka or through U Cash service. Subject to correct name, address, phone number, your vehicle documents will be sent through Sundarbans Courier as per the address.

Warrant

If the case is not disposed of within the stipulated time, the case is referred to the concerned court for issuance of warrant. After the issuance of the warrant from the court, the police officers seized the vehicle concerned on the road and released the vehicle after the issuance of the warrant.

Warrant settlement

The task of settling a warrant is not difficult either. After the issuance of the warrant, some formalities have to be completed through the GRO by appearing in the concerned court with the warrant number.
