In fact, with age, the bones begin to weaken, causing joint pain to become a prey, and the greatest effect is on the knees.
Whether the knee pain is the result of a recent injury or joint disease, there are a few common things you can do to get rid of the problem or reduce its severity.
* Don't relax too much *
Excessive rest or sitting can weaken the muscles, which can make joint pain worse. Make it a habit to do exercises that are safe for the knees and make them a habit. If you are not sure which physical activity is safe or not or for how long, talk to your doctor.
* Must exercise *
Cardio exercises such as walking, swimming, cycling and others strengthen the muscles, support the knees and increase flexibility, weight training and scratching are also beneficial. Tai chi also reduces stiffness and improves balance.
* Avoid falling *
Traumatic or unbalanced knees increase the chances of falling, which can lead to further damage to the knees. Keep the house lit or lean on something to avoid falling.
* Use 'Rice' *
Rest, ice, compression and elevation (Rice) are the best strategies to prevent knee pain due to minor injuries or joint diseases. Give your knees some rest, reduce the swelling with ice, apply a compressive bandage and keep your knees a little higher.
* Don't ignore weight *
If you are overweight, losing weight can reduce the stress on your knees, you do not need to achieve the ideal weight, even a slight reduction can make a difference.
* Don't avoid walking support *
A crutch or cane can help reduce tension on the knees, and braces placed on the knees can also help keep it stable.
* Consider Acupuncture *
In this traditional Chinese method, needles are inserted into specific parts of the body and are used to reduce various types of pain, which may also be useful in reducing knee pain.
* Take care of shoes *
Soft soles can reduce stress on the knees. Doctors often recommend the use of special soles for chronic knee pain. A doctor should be consulted for this purpose.
* Hot cool also helpful *
Cold packs can be used to reduce swelling and discomfort after the first 48 to 72 hours after a knee injury. For this purpose, put ice in a plastic bag and wrap a towel around it, then 3 times a day. Use 4 times for 15 to 20 minutes. Then help with heating, repeat three to four times for 15 to 20 minutes on a heating pad or hot towel.
* Don't put the joint in trouble *
More strenuous exercise can further damage the sore knees. Avoid such exercises as running, jumping, etc. while avoiding sitting up as it also increases the pressure on the knees.
