Another obstacle to settling on Mars is that scientists have not yet been able to confirm the existence of all life on Earth. At any given time, new species are being discovered on Earth. Although no life has been found on Mars so far, scientists cannot claim that there is no life on the planet. Attempts to settle there before this can be confirmed could threaten the very existence of that life. May even disappear.
