All the tender children in her care won't sneak out they wouldn't dare they sit in silence whenever she says and if they sin, both sits and prays.

Bruises and punishments she's dealt others sisters no idea what they felt she's warned them all they keep quiet for if they squeal, well see, just try it

She lurks in shadows watching them any noise or happiness she will stem children should be seen never heard has ways so cruel you'll not say a word

Dark Nun they call the black ghost those that rebel feel her the most that prickle on the back of your neck or dread at night no light not a speck

She raps on walls as you try to sleep turns door handles loud as if to creep pinches or pushes to make you cry icy cold touch as she passes you by

The convent is part of an old house hers was a silent order quiet as a mouse now out of time but doesn't realise is a ball of light in flight to prying eyes

Through walls along old passage ways corridors creak and odd sound replays Bony hands and that pale pale skin engulfed in a wimple and gown within

Dark Nun rules time with iron grip she won't let things just slide or slip fingernails scratching under your bed speak of her cold displeasure instead

Little orphans vulnerable and weak won't you tell us what's wrong or speak? watching a shadow no-one else sees shattered nerves and shivering knees

And the tap on the window is a twig? The rap on the skirting is a rat just big? Sharp glass in your bed just appeared? The reflection wasn't what you feared?

Dark Nun haunts halls and corridors she owns the rooms and all the floors From attic to basement no escape now she finds a way to pay you back somehow
