"Hope Amidst Chaos"

It is the worst of times, it is the best of time. It is the season of light, it is the season of darkness. It is the spring of courage, it is the winter of despair. Like Charles Dickens' thoughts, Covid 19 is an era that instigate chaos but looking into different perspective it can also inspire hope.

Death, sickness, loss, confusion and fear. Our normal lives stopped in just a snap. But in the middle of this trying times and difficulty lie an opportunity. Opportunity to be helpful, to be compassionate, to learn, and to spend time with our families.

Adjusting life under the new normal is not easy for some of us. The things that we used to do every day may not be the same things we do now in the new normal. You are mostly spending time inside your home, waiting for time to pass, or asking yourself what to do next to eliminate boredom. But on the other hand, self-isolation can bring us fresh views about our lives, thoughts to be processed, family relationships to be enriched, and our own selves, to be replenished while inside the comfort of our own homes.

Sure, home quarantine or staying inside your home from sunrise to sunset may sound boring, living your life in slow motion, away from the fast paced happenings and the handful of tasks from school of from work. It may also feel strangely comforting and discomforting at how you have plenty of time to spend for your family and yourself yet do little to nothing these days. But, if you actually look not as it is, but as it could be, you could actually be productive while keeping harmony with yourself during quarantine.

Look for activities that you haven't or still haven't done. Read the last chapter of your favorite book. Learn something new from tutorials over the internet. Rearrange your clothes in your closet, or binge-watch the new series that just came in online. Though staying inside the borders of your home may limit you from meeting with your friends, going out on several destinations, learning at school and others, this can't stop you from reconnecting with things you love to do while abiding to the rules and staying at home.

But the most important realization that came from the quarantine is that you now have the opportunity to hang out and connect more with your family and also dwell deeper with yourself and your thoughts. Share your opinions with your family while eating dinner, laugh with them while watching your favorite TV show, and be informed on the latest news together while also having more "me" time for yourself by meditating on your thoughts. There's nothing more fulfilling than socializing more with your family and examining yourself more during these hard times.

While waiting for the quarantine to be lifted and the borders to be opened again, it's not too late to reconnect with yourself and your family. Let's keep in mind that while the COVID-19 may have gave us new challenges, it has also given us a new beginning, and from today onwards, as long as we follow the guidelines, we can go through this pandemic in unity, facing a new tomorrow ahead of us. For after all, some of life's BEST lessons are learned at the worst of times.
