Lebanese Prime Minister Mostafa Adib has resigned

Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Mostafa Adib has announced his resignation amid political stalemate.

Announcing his resignation on Saturday (September 26th), Adib said he had decided to withdraw from the new cabinet.

Prime Minister Adib has announced that he will step down from his post to form a neutral cabinet due to a dispute over the finance ministry.

Earlier, the country's top diplomat Mustafa Adib took over as the country's prime minister on August 31. He was elected by the members of the parliament of the country.

He came to power on August 4 after a horrific explosion in Beirut, Lebanon.
